About this Cook
I started baking after a man made me so mad that there was nothing else to do but bake. The sad thing is that to this day I have no idea who that guy was or what he did that made me so mad. But I digress. I still love to bake one way or another. On average, I bake several times a week, and prepare different meals. It's fun and theraputic. I cook and bake so much that I have friends and relative that are more interested in that big room that tends to be in the middle of the house that just happens to have a stove, fridge, sink, and dishwasher. For those that didn't get the joke I am talking about the kitchen.
My favorite things to cook
Any type of baked good. Love to bake them but hate to eat them. Also with savory dishes, love cheese. I think that cheese enhances almost any dish. And I do mean almost any.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Cooking either Thanksgiving dinner or Christmas dinner together. Everyone always has their specialty which adds a twist and flavor to holidays. Never boring. Always delicious except for the way left field recipes. Sorry Aunt Sharon.
My cooking triumphs
The German Chocolate Cake from this website!!! The Key Lime Cake from this website. If one more person ask me to make that cake I think I may have to write Webster and ask him to eliminate that word from the english language. But I will say that majority of the recipes that I experiment with from this website are hits. Thanks!!!!
My cooking tragedies
I made a Red Velvet cake from this website for my X-BOYFRIEND'S mother and it turned out dry and horrible. But that wasn't to far from how the relationship ended. LOL!!!!

Fresh Southern Peach Cobbler
This recipe was pretty good. I did however alter the dough part adding nutmeg and cinnamon so that both dough and compote would merry properly. It tasted exactly like Moms.

Brownie Caramel Cheesecake
Excellent Cheesecake eventhough I just knew that the brownie crust was going to be hard and gummy but I was totally surprised. It was perfect. The only thing that I was not crazy about was the thiness of the caramel in between the crust and cheesecake. Next time I will double that. I will also double the amount of cheesecake I thought that layer was a little slim. Other than that it was a happy ending to a great meal. Thanks!

Chantal's New York Cheesecake
Good things happen when you wait...this has been the best cheesecake that I have ever made. The instructions fit to a "T" and I have never had a crack in the middle of my cheesecake. Even this last time when the cheesecake couldn't sit in the waterbath, I just placed the waterbath directly below the cheesecake and it worked out just as well. I had no complaints and will continue to use this as a base cheesecake in the future. Thanks!!!
