I've always enjoyed cooking, but now that I am a stay-at-home mom, I try to find even more time to find new recipes and try making new things for my family. Lucky for me, my husband is always game, and my daughter is pretty adventurous!
My favorite things to cook
I like cooking a whole chicken from time to time, and nothing makes me happier than a delicious home-made soup! And no one can resist home baked cookies, especially not when you make them yourself, and get to bask in their aroma as they bake.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mom was a working mom, so she made a lot of quick meals when we were growing up, but one thing I LOVED to do with her was make pizza. It's one of those foods that's as much fun to prepare as it is to eat, and I just know what me and my daughter will be making pizza together as soon as she is tall enough to reach the ingredients from a stool in the kitchen!!!
My cooking triumphs
My mom-in-law broke her arm one year just before Thanksgiving, and even though she thought she could cook a ham, everyone wanted turkey, so I volunteered to be the cook for the occasion, and everything (right down to the yams) went off without a hitch!
My cooking tragedies
I have tried, and failed miserably, to make edible teething biscuits from all natural ingredients for my baby (hoping to also master them and sell them at the farmer's market).
