Papa Drexler's Bavarian Pretzels

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2009
Very, very good! I made 16 smaller pretzels. You do have to add a lot of extra flour because the dough is rather sticky but it still tastes great. Be careful, if your pretzels become too thin they tend to become hard after a while but its nothing a few seconds in the microwave cant fix. I served them with the "Nacho Cheese Sauce" recipe off this website and it was unbelievable!

Marble Swirl Pound Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2009
I followed other people's suggestions and cut back on the flour and only used 2 and 3/4 cups..everything else was the same. It tastes great!! I really didnt expect it to taste so good but mann was it yummy...everyone loved it and its already half gone. I had extra chocolate batter b/c i didnt divide it evenly so i baked it in a smaller pan. My dad who will not TOUCH chocolate ate the whole thing!! Try it..it is sooo good!! BTW - to get a good swirl effect going..alternatively spoon the batter in the pan in a sort of checkerboard pattern...and you dont have to swirl it using a spoon or anything...itll bake up fine.

Potato Chips

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2009
this is great!! they come out so crispy and yummy!! i added a sprinkkle of seasoned salt and they were awesome! in my microwave it took about 7-8 minutes to cook them though so dont be afraid to leave them in a little longer than the 2-3 minutes suggested on the recipe if they still look raw. i just let them cook until i started to see the potatoes turning brown and then took them out. they do make very little chips but its perfect for a single serving to accompany a sandwich!

Cajun Chicken Pasta

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2009
Great Recipe!! Definitely give this a try. I dont follow the measurements for the spices at all. I add much more and it never seems enough. You will definitely need to at least double them but start with the measurements given by the recipe to see if you like it and then add as you go. I also do not follow the directions and have perfected my own way to make this. It really is a fool proof recipe, you cant go wrong with it!! So YUMMY!!!

Lemon Cake with Lemon Filling and Lemon Butter Frosting

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2008
it was okay. i didnt really like it so much, i felt it was too sour/tart. i used almost 5 cups of confectioner's sugar in the frosting and it still was not sweet. eveyrthing tasted like butter to me..the filling AND the frosting. i definitely will not be making this again..it just wasnt that good.

Garlic Cheese Biscuits

Reviewed: Jul. 27, 2008
These were great!! i did exactly as the recipe stated except i realized half way through making it that i didnt have any milk so i just used plain water. I also added finely chopped onion, green pepper, jalapenos, and potatoes to the biscuit mix and then baked them. I served with a side of pizza sauce for dipping. They were FAB! didnt even last an hour!

Pineapple Coconut Upside-Down Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2008
really really good. the addition of sour cream makes this cake so yummy and moist!! in fact, its so good that i use it as a base for other cakes instead of the directions on the cake mix box. i didnt care for the cherries in this cake, they tasted a lot like cough syrup to me but thats just a personal preference. I would definitely make it again but without the maraschino cherries or maybe use fresh ones. besides that i loved it!

Sauceless Garden Lasagna

Reviewed: May 3, 2008
This is amazing!! Really very good! I used a 9 x 13 inch pan and didnt use the full amount of tomatoes b/c someone mentioned it was too much. I ran out of tomatoes after the very first layer =( I noticed that everyone had the problem of the veggies releasing liquid in the oven so i precooked all the veggies except the spinach. I drizzles the tomatoes with olive oil, diced garlic cloves, salt + pepper and stuck them in the oven for 20 mins. The dish was filled with liquid when i took it out i just picked out the tomatoes with tongs. I fried the zucchini and red onion in some veggie oil for a few mins so they didnt release so much liquid while baking. I also added olives and a yellow pepper to the spinach mixture. Also since i ran out of tomatoes, i used spaghetti sauce for the other layers. It was really good. You can just use some spaghetti sauce and it works just as well as tomatoes. i really loved it. im going to make it again today and i just made this yesterday!!!
