Bread Machine Garlic Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2004
I was out of plain garlic powder so I substituted the same amount of McCormack's Garlic and Herb Seasoning, and I cut the dried parsley in half. Man! It is a bread to die for!!! It's especially good when used to make hummus sandwiches. Definitely give it a try.

Asian Style Meatloaf

Instead of the three slices of bread, I added 2 cups of cooked rice (I had it left over) and everyone loved it. I'll definitely make it again.

Ginger Beef Curry (Slow Cooker Version)

Reviewed: Jul. 29, 2003
This was the most God awful recipe I've ever tried. The amount of spices totally overpowers everything. I'd try the basic recipe again, but I'd use 2 tbs. of premixed curry powder.

Provincial Tomatoes

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2003
This recipe is an extremely nice "stand around the kitchen table" snack. The guests helped to prepare it, and when it was eaten everyone was awestruck by the flavours created from the common, simple ingredients. It's a perfect snack recipe for Yuppies, and other mindless people. Peace and love, Paul

Chicken Shwarma

I served this dish to my non-Indian friends, and they loved it. I loved it for its ease in preparing. I did put in a bit of tamarind paste, though.

Ginger Scallops

I can't stand cooked carrots, so I left them out of Jeanne's recipe. It was a totally melt-in-the-mouth delicious meal. I had it over rice, and a side of fresh asparagus.

Barley and Mushrooms with Beans

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2002
With a bit of shredded cheese sprinkled on top, this was a totally toothsome, full meal. I did add a bit of crusty bread. Paul

Broccoli Quiche with Mashed Potato Crust

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2002
Because of my heart, I used soy milk, veggie shreds chedder soy cheese, and egg beaters. I was totally happy. The second time that I made it I was in a hurry, so I used powdered potatoes, and it was just as scrumptious.

Broccoli Tofu Pitas

This recipe was good, but didn't have zip. Along with the broccoli, I added diced onion, minced garlic and a squirt of hot sauce. It lengthens the prep time, but it zips!

Beer Batter

For a more "formal" version of fish & chips, I also coat the french fries in the batter. For us weight-watching folks, the fish & chips can be oven baked (345-deg./30-35 min), and everyone still loves it.
