About this Cook
My favorite things to cook
Comfort Food & Anything Sweet!!!
My favorite family cooking traditions
I love recipes that have been handed down from my ancestors, like matzo ball soup, orange noodle ring, apple coffee cake, pasta fagioli, Aunt Pearls chocolate cake, Gays brownies, Bettys meatballs & sauce, Key Lime Pie, they all have a great story that goes with them & I want to pass that on to my boys . We have started a few traditions of our own, seafood stew on Christmas Eve, Cinnamon Rolls Christmas morning, Easter Bunny cakes, etc...I bring a killer chocolate decadence with whipped cream & raspberries to every gathering we attend.

Bake Sale Lemon Bars
I made this with the recommendations from GourmetMommy & they were 5 star! Definitely double the filling to match crust!!!And when patting the crust into pan push it up the sides just 1/4" or so. The only addition I had was to add a tbsp. of lemon zest to filling and they were perfect! Crust was like shortbread, buttery, yummm & filling was lemony with just the right amount of tartness. They were even better the second day. If they last that long!!!

Three Berry Pie
I used fresh berries, strawberries, blueberries & raspberries,& the exact amount of sugar the recipe called for, which was perfect. I don't like my fruit pie's too sweet. But I did up the cornstarch to 1/4 cup & it was still way too runny and juicy. Also you could taste the cornstarch. I will try it again. I would really like to find a pie that sets right. I've perfected cakes so now I'm moving on to pie's. I'll keep trying!!!

One Bowl Brownies
Great Chocolate flavor! I only used 1 1/2 cups of sugar because that's all I had & they were still perfect. I cooked them in a 9" square non stick pan sprayed with Pam & had no trouble with sticking. I like thick brownies. Added chocolate chips & cooked for 35 min. Simple & Good!
