Orange Meringue Pie

I wasn't satisfied with how the pie turned out. The zest made it bitter (yes, I know not to use the white part) and gave it more texture than I care for. 2 egg whites made for a very skimpy topping also.

No Bake Peanut Butter Bars

The taste was very good, not too strong of any one flavor. My only problem was that they were so crumbly when cut. I lost almost half of each bar in crumbs. I don't know if I did something wrong but I don't think I will make them again for that reason.

John's Crabby Caps

OK, I admit that I didn't really read all the directions first. I just mixed everything together, threw it on some Portobello mushroom caps for a meal sized portion, put it in the oven topped with Provolone cheese. It was so good, fast and easy. 11/03 i have made them a few times now and they have turned out very dry when they weren't topped with the provolone.

Chicken and Mushroom Chowder

Very good. I did have to increase the chicken broth and the milk. I didn't add the milk until the end because I tend to walk away while things are simmering. I also adjusted the salt and pepper to our tastes. I will make again. Totally comfort food.

Raspberry Lemon Muffins

GREAT RECIPE. I added a lot more lemon extract than called for (I love lemon) and sprinkled the top with sugar. Loved it. My husband even gave it 5 stars and he is really particular.

No-Bake Granola Bars

As easy as the No Bake cookies. I wasn't crazy about the peanut butter in it, may leave that out next time. Also rather crumbly. I changed the raisins to a mix of dried cherries, blueberries and strawberries. Very tasty. I will make these again, tweaking the recipe a bit.

Beverly's Get Up & Go Breakfast Cookies

These were too cake like for me. They had a good flavor but I more than doubled the amount of orange juice in it and iced it with a white chocolate and orange peel mix. Next time I will decrease to flour and increase the Grape Nuts. My kids did love them and they usually get tired of things after a day or two. Not this time.

Best Ever Popcorn Balls

Good stuff. I made a half batch and still got 15 baseball sized protions. That was plenty for us. I can't imagine trying to do a full batch. Would need a really big pot to stir it all in. Next time I will wear some sort of gloves so that I don't burn myself trying to put them together. These really weren't any more difficult than making Rice Crispy Treats.

Garlic Bubble Ring

I only used 1/2 cup of butter and that was still plenty. I am not sure what the purpose of the egg was. I don't think the end result was worth the effort or cost of ingredients. I don't think I will make this again.
