These tasted fantastic! I doubled the recipe, and it made at least 20 servings, so it was plenty! Thanks!!

This soup is fantastic! Its got a great flavor, and nothing needs to be changed-this is wonderful as is. I sprinkled it with crushed red pepper for a bit more zest. Perfect!

Ice Cream Cone Treats

Reviewed: May 4, 2009
These are pretty easy to make, but quite difficult to transport! Make sure not to fill the cones too much - its perfect if you fill the bottom up to the line where the top widens out!

The brown sugar makes these taste wonderfully! They definitely don't take 12 minutes to bake - more like 8! Very tasty!

Best Ever Muffins

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2009
These had a great flavor & were an excellent way to make a variety of different types of muffins, but they came out a bit hard & not very moist. I'll definitely make them again, but they just aren't as crumbly as muffins should be.

Spiced Raisin Mini Muffins

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2009
These are super easy - I followed one of the other reviewer's advice & did NO pre-cooking. I mixed all the dry ingredients & all the wet ingredients separately, made a "hole" in the center of the dry & added the wet. I made half with whole raisins & half without raisins & both were excellent! They are very moist and not too sweet for breakfast! I nixed the glaze because of time, but its only necessary for those with a super sweet tooth!

Pumpkin Gingerbread

This was excellent and super easy! It took about 38-40 minutes to bake, and it came out perfect. The flavor and texture are just like my grandmother's homemade bread. Thanks for this awesome recipe!

Cinnamon-Curry Tuna Salad

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2008
This is super simple and has a pretty good flavor, but its definitely not chunky enough. I added fresh onions and chopped celery to mine, and that made it the best! The cinnamon-curry flavor is fabulous!

Greek Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2008
Super easy, great flavor. I'm only giving it 4 stars because it was impossible to shape them, and I really wanted a cute shaped cookie, but the dough was impossibly sticky to shape into the "s", so I ended up rolling the dough into small balls and pressing them with a cup, like sugar cookies. I dusted them with cocoa and powdered sugar and the flavor - esp the hint of almond - is delish :) I only baked them for 5 mins, though, and the bottoms were beginning to brown, so definitely keep an eye on these while they bake. Next time, I'll try a honey glaze on top!

Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2008
FAB! Absolutely FAB! As a grad student, I have limited time, but baking is my stress relief. This was amazing. I made half a batch and got 48 medium sized cookies. I made half the batch with chocolate chips and half with - my personal fave cookie is chocolate chip sans the chocolate chips. I have a really hot gas oven, so mine took about 8 minutes, and I turned the sheet halfway through for even edges. These didn't stick at all, and were melt-in-your-mouth perfection. Putting the dough in the fridge for about an hour was an amazing tip, and its definitely a good idea to keep an eye on these while they bake so they come out at the right time. I'll never change recipes :)

Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies I

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2008
These cookies have an excellent flavor; however, they did not turn out chewy and soft but more like a sugar cookie in texture - very thin and crisp due to spreading while baking. I added white chocolate chips and peanut butter chips, and they tasted great, too! My only complaint is the texture and spreading - other than that, perfect!

Grandma Gudgel's Black Bottom Cupcakes

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2008
These are great, super yummy cupcakes with an excellent texture and flavor. I only gave it 4 stars because I had problems getting the cupcakes to stay black on the bottom instead of all over - the cream cheese mix sunk to the bottom. Its definitely best to use mini chocolate chips to keep this from happening, and mini muffin pans work fabulously with this! I even had left overs from each batter and put it in a small pan as a little swirl cake, and it came out great.

Spinach Enchiladas Verde

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2008
I thought this was a great beginners recipe for enchiladas - it was simple and tasted decently. However, these don't have the robust flavor of Tex-Mex. I even used jalepenos in my enchiladas along with the spinach, and it wasn't up to par. Definitely cut back on the amount of sour cream and a bit on the cheese, and increase the verde sauce. The tortillas fell apart very easily, but they tasted good out of the oven. These would probably be better with a sauteed chicken inside to enhance the flavor.

Chewy Peanut Butter Brownies

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2008
Let's be realistic - these aren't brownies because brownies have chocolate! Thus, I added my own gooey chocolate icing right out of the oven and let it melt through these bad boys, and it was fantastic! They are somewhat cakey in consistency, but they taste fabulous. Don't be discouraged if the batter looks doughy, it stretches just fine in the oven. I made this in 2 small pans (5x5 and 4x6)and it made plenty more than 16 brownies. Taste great, but a bit more peanut butter would be a good call, and definitely mix in both creamy and crunchy kinds! All in all - great, but it needs a bit of chocolate flair to make it a real brownie!

Whole Wheat Snickerdoodles I

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2008
These are excellent - my favorite cookies! I tweaked the recipe a little to my liking, though, adding 1 TBSP of vanilla and 1 TBSP of cinnamon, and they turned out fantastic! I've even mixed the cinnamon right in, and they work just fine.

One Minute Chocolate Icing

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2008
This was excellently easy. I didn't even use a beater to get the consistency up - just throw it in the freezer for 20 minutes and it looks and feels just like frosting. However, its really really gooey, so its great for cookies and brownies, but not so much for cakes! Tastes delicious :)

Flourless Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2008
I altered the recipe a little bit simply because I'm not a huge fan of so much sugar. Instead, I used 1 cup of creamy peanut butter, 1 egg, and 1/2 cup of brown sugar and baked for 8 minutes. They came out wonderfully and definitely sweet enough for me. The recipe is definitely for just a few cookies, though!

Roasted Potatoes with Tomatoes, Basil, and Garlic

Reviewed: Jun. 10, 2008
I thought this was a great starter recipe, but i added a bit to it and it turned out fantastic! I diced red potatoes and pre-boiled them for 9 minutes. After, steam fresh green beans for 7 minutes. Strain both veggies, and put on a broiling pan along with fresh diced seeded tomatoes, 1 fresh chopped clove of garlic, 1/2 cup of feta cheese, and 1 can of chopped artichoke hearts. Then sprinkle basil & parmesan & bake for 15-20 minutes! The only reason I give it 4 stars is because you need to add more to make it into 5!
