About this Cook
I'm a college student who has recently gone off board, so I visit allrecipes.com for ideas.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook (and eat) fish and seafood; salad, stews and goulash and breads.
My favorite family cooking traditions
At home, my mom makes light Chinese food, which means that everything is seasoned with soy sauce, white pepper, garlic, scallions, etc.--you get the idea. However, my own cooking has gravitated towards Western cooking, and light and tasty foods in general, except for stew, which I need for the winter.
My cooking triumphs
salads
My cooking tragedies
none--so I need to start taking risks.

Lebanese Chicken and Potatoes
This is a FINE recipe! The lemon makes it so much more interesting than your average tasty stew. Chicken and rosemary go very well together, but the combination of it all with onion and potato juices makes it to die for. I promise you will not be able to stop picking at it. Please don't refrigerate, as it take the tenderness away from the chicken.

Hungarian Goulash I
I love goulash, and I like that this recipe uses tomato paste, as it intensifies the paprika and gives it a good consistency. I used a tablespoon of butter to saute the onions and added potatoes and carrots, to make it sweeter and heartier.

Honey, Mustard, and Yogurt Salad Dressing
1 Minute Masterpiece! I mixed whole milk organic yogurt with country dijon and added honey. I think the whole milk yogurt did it--whole milk yogurt is delicious because it has more fat (14%DV). I was pleasantly surprised.
