Satiny Chocolate Glaze

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2008
I just made this for the Too Much Chocolate cake based on previous reviews. I used 1/2 butterscotch chips and half chocolate chips. It was SO delicious and perfect with the cake (which, if you haven't made it yet, go make it right now!).

Breaded, Fried, Softly Spiced Tofu

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2008
Delicious! I made two minor changes: I skipped the salt, as I used regular, not low-sodium, veggie broth, so that was plenty of salt for my taste. I also tripled the pepper, just because I love fresh ground black pepper and almost always add more than the amount called for to recipes. I served it with a side of sesame rice noodles and everyone loved it--a real crowd pleaser! I will most definitely be making this again! Thanks so much for the fabulous recipe!

Perfect Baked Potato

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2008
I followed a previous poster's advice and microwaved the potatoes for five minutes, then baked them at 350 for 45 minutes. I roasted a head of garlic while the potatoes were baking. Then I smashed the roasted garlic cloves and spread them on the potatoes in place of butter. It was the best baked potato I'd ever had!

Chicken Breasts in Caper Cream Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2008
A deceptively simple recipe! I skipped the salt, and garlic powder, and instead added minced sauteed garlic to the cream sauce (I doubled the cream per previous reviews). This is so delicious! Served it with grilled asparagus and garlic mashed potates. Thanks for the recipe!

Mediterranean Stuffed Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2008
An absolute favorite! I made a slit for the filling and just stuffed the breasts rather than rolling them, and increased the cooking time to 40ish minutes. I skipped the dill, and instead used a splash of lemon juice, two cloves of finely minced garlic and some finely minced fresh basil. It was absolutely deliciuos and there were no leftovers!

Sage Pork Chops

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2008
I LOVE sage, so I love this recipe! I skipped the salt, doubled the sage and pepper, and added one minced clove of garlic to the broth. The chops turned out so tender and flavorful--making this one again soon!

Teriyaki Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2008
I use 1/2 Cup of brown sugar, 3/4 cup of low sodium soy sauce, 2 TBSP of fresh grated ginger and 2 TBSP lemon juice. I use it as a marinade for boneless, skinless chicken breasts. It's so simple and tasty, and neither too sweet nor salty! Everyone loves it. Goes great with rice and veggies.

Bacon Wrapped Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2008
A family favorite! I make a few adjustments to this. I add freshly ground black pepper, minced garlic and fresh basil to the cream cheese cheese. I partially cooked the bacon. I substituted white wine for 1/4 cup of the milk.

Simple and delicious! I used 1 Cup of green pepper, 2 cloves of garlic, added a bit of basil and freshly ground black pepper and skipped the onion. Great with rice!

Catherine's Spicy Chicken Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2008
I skipped the can of whole tomatoes, onion, and onion powder, and used frozen corn instead of canned. I also added some sauteed minced garlic and a can of green chilies. Topped it with sour cream, monterey jack, tortilla strips and diced avocado! This is so delicious and freezes well!

Chicken Cordon Bleu II

So rich, so unhealthy, but so delicious! It's easy to make and goes quickly. This is a staple for holidays in my household. Definitely add some freshly ground black pepper, though!

Kaese Spaetzle

Spaetzlemakers make life way easier! I have been on several long trips to Germany and Austria and I love this--it's great comfort food. I also tried making this with Gruyere, as a previous reviewer recommended, and it's delicious that way, too! Great recipe! I normally can't stand onions, but I love love love this recipe.

Perfect just as submitted! My family doesn't find it too spicy at all--the flavor it gives meat is perfect. Makes the BEST ribs. A summer staple at our house!

Baked Chicken Nuggets

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2008
I used half the salt, thyme and basil recommended and added a bit of garlic powder. Instead of the butter, I used a couple of beaten eggs. These are so simple and so delicious! I usually serve them with oven-baked fries and baked beans.

Polenta with Italian Sausage

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2008
I have made this three times and followed it to the letter the first two times. The last time I made it, I added a little more garlic and followed a previous reviewer's suggestion of adding a bit of good balsamic vinegar (which I love). Either way, I love it, and so does my family!

Last Minute Chicken Dinner

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2008
I used cream of celery soup instead of cream of chicken because it was what I had on hand! I skipped the onion and garlic powder entirely and added 2 cloves of sauteed garlic instead. Right before serving it, I added some torn fresh basil and freshly ground black pepper. This is simple, delicious comfort food!

California Sherry Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2008
I skipped the salt, used regular sherry rather than cooking sherry, tripled the garlic and doubled the sauce! I served it with brown rice. This is delicious, easy and tasty! I've made it several times since I came across the recipe, and it always gets compliments! My husband loves it. When he makes it, he uses the same tweaks as I do, but uses different veggies and serves it with rosemary new potatoes and garlic bread. It's great that way, too! A definite keeper.

Black Bean and Chickpea Hummus

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2008
I wouldn't quite call this hummus, exactly, but it certainly is delicious! I skipped the curry powder and water, doubled the garlic and added a bit more lemon juice than the original recipe called for. Great with pita bread, tortilla chips, Ritz crackers or rolled up in a tortilla with veggies as a southwestern wrap!

Vegan Black Bean Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2008
Overall, this is delicious! I skipped the carrots, celery and onions--as a previous reviewer said, they don't really fit in a Southwestern-style soup, I don't think. I added a little cilantro, too. A great soup!

Tuna, Avocado and Bacon Sandwich

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2008
After seeing a previous review that this was a little dry, I doubled the dijon mustard and added 2 tablespoons of mayo. I skipped the horseradish, relish, onion and paprika. A good, basic recipe with plenty of room for experimentation!
