Slow Cooker Chicken Cacciatore

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2009
Very delicious. I did use frozen chicken breasts and just tossed them in the CrockPot with everything. By the time 8 hours went by, they were falling apart from being so tender. The sauce is great. I added a can of tomato paste to make it thicker but it was still pretty thin. I'll have to tweak something to get it just right. Overall, 2 thumbs up.

Barbeque Pork Two Ways

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2009
Absolutely delicious. I also used 1C bbq sauce and 1C ketchup. Did a 3lb bone in pork roast. My whole family ate every last bite. Will definitely make again.

Baked Pork Chops I

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2009
Just made it tonight and even my picky 4 year old had seconds. Kept the recipe as is EXCEPT I sauteed some mushrooms with a little bit of pepper in the same pan as the porkchops(when they came out--left the little bits of crust in the pan)and added it to the sauce. Also I only cooked for 1 hour--pouring the soup mixture on after 30 minutes. That was MORE then enough time. I'm not sure what would have happened had I left them in there another 30 minutes.

Mexican Lasagna

Reviewed: May 4, 2009
It was tasty--far too much water though. I'd certainly lessen the quantity by at least a cup. Boil the lasagna noodles just long enough to get them the slightest bit soft. I omitted the onions because my family doesn't much care for them. Could've used a tad bit more sour cream. Overall it was good.

Artichokes in a Garlic and Olive Oil Sauce

Reviewed: May 4, 2009
I only gave it 4 stars for 2 reasons--I thought it needed a little more olive oil and more artichokes. I used probably 4 1/2TB of olive oil and a 14oz can of artichoke hearts. I also added a little garlic salt and some salt and pepper. Topped it off with some parmesan cheese and it was wonderful. I'd definitely make it again.

American Lasagna

Reviewed: May 1, 2009
I have never made lasagna before but this turned out GREAT. I used more tomatoes so it wouldn't be dry. I also suggest to boil the lasagna noodles just enough to soften. If you boil them too long they will tear. It was really, really good.

Penne with Chicken and Asparagus

Reviewed: May 1, 2009
I used 3 chicken breasts. I thought it was good--not the best though. I'll have to figure out what to add to spice it up just a bit. Overall its tasty and I would make it again.

Red Garlic Mashed Potatoes

Left out the sugar and added a little salt as they were a touch bland. Other then that I loved them!

Anniversary Chicken I

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2009
I marinated the chicken in the teriyaki marinade before cooking. I omitted the onions because my family doesn't care for them. I felt the bacon bits made it a little salty but my husband LOVED it.

This fish was DELICIOUS. My husband loved it and so did my two toddlers. Anyone who says this is bland is nuts.

Bake Sale Lemon Bars

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2009
I gave it 4 stars because I followed GourmetMommy's suggestions on the filling and also doubled the ingredients for the crust. I don't care for sweet lemon bars and these changes made the perfect tart bar.

These were great. I used 13 whole wings which took 1 cup of hot sauce and half a cup of butter. Very good. I will definitely make these again.

Restaurant-Style Potato Skins

I read the reviews of the others and decided to bake the potatoes in the oven instead of frying them. They were tasty but could've used a little salt. They were lacking a certain something.

Bubba's Jambalaya

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2009
I followed the recipe EXCEPT, I didn't add onion. I added a little bit of cayenne pepper also. I put everything in the slow cooker(except bacon, rice and shrimp) for a few hours and then added the rest the last hour. I don't know how anyone is saying this recipe is bland. It is QUITE spicy.

Mrs. Sigg's Snickerdoodles

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2008
Did what other people suggested and used HALF the cream of tartar. I did need twice the amount of cinnamon and sugar to coat the cookies. I baked 8 minutes only. I did learn by trial and error NOT to bake more then once batch at a time(my first round I had to cookie sheets in the oven and the bottom ones burned while the top ones were perfect).

Apple Cake III

I didn't give the recipe 5 stars only because like a lot of others, I used almost TWO cans of apple filling. It was just right. This cake reminded me of a coffee cake. Very tasty.

Soft Sugar Cookies IV

These cookies are delicious. However, there is no way you can bake them the time specified--they'll end up burnt on the bottom. I found that 8-9 minutes was WAY more then enough.

This apple crisp is AMAZING. I used 8 granny smith apples and doubled the topping ingredients. Kept the water the same(which makes a great sauce)and it came out perfect.

Roasted Pumpkin Seeds

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2008
Well I can't say how the original recipe would have turned out since I made a few changes. I boiled the seeds in heavily salted water for 20 minutes and then let them soak another hour. I layed them on papertowels to dry for almost 2 days. Then I mixed them with 1TB of butter, 1TB Olive Oil and 1TB of salt and baked in the oven on 300 degrees for 40 minutes and they were toasted with just the right amount of salt.
