I can't sleep

  This i hope will be the next to last blog concerning my tater. i'm about to leave to go back to the hospital to sit with her and wait for the folks to take her and prep her her for the final surgery. i started at the beginning of my blogs, (they all concerned claire), and read all of them again. quite a ride! she has been amazing. folks your care and kindness has been so appreciated...i wish i could repay each of you in some way! remember this is bass fishing paradise! she had a great ( yeah---sure...in the hospital hooked to an iv) 50th birthday! many, many visitors! today again we were flooded with folks and phone-calls and doctors. a lot of excitment. we heard from 1 doctor that it may be possible that she will not have to take cumiden the rest of her life. another doctor came in today when i wasn;t there that saw her when she spent a month in icu and claire said, he said,"amazing...amazing" concerning her progress. i tell claire that all the time but she was in a coma for @5 weeks and doesn;t remember the bad times...thank god! God must have a special use for her! she is a very special human being that truly wants to help people.her princpal came up and saw her tonight and he said he was taking some spanish classes in advance of an influx of soldiers for BRAC. i told him claire was self-teaching herself latin for relaxation prior to her stroke ...that's how she rocks. she is an egghead but boy howdy! she is my gorgeous egghead! we expect her to stay in the hospital between 5-10 days after the surgery for coming off the actrophan (sp) and moving back to cumiden...hopefully for only a couple months! thanks again for all the kind words, responses,prayers, cards! love radiates from here back to each of you!

I have been only on AR for awhile but I've read everyone of your blogs. If there ever was a better example of the power of God and the love he has given to the two of you I haven't ever seen it. You are an example and an inspiration to so many people. You have no idea all the lives you have touched with you words. When you say you hope this is the next to last blog about your wife I truly hope you meant because she was making such a wonderful recovery that you wouldn't have to write anymore because everything would be great from now on! Please keep writing sometimes anyway as I know your family will continue to be in all our thoughts and prayers, you may have to change the theme of your blogs but we all want to hear from you. I pray that you will find peace and encouragement today during the surgery and the assurance that God is with all of you every step of the way.

It is amazing to me to see that everlasting love that you both share. Quite a wonderful example to your daughters! Know that you've all touched our lives in hearing your story!

Thanks for the post. I continue to keep you, Claire and your whole family in my mind and say a prayer for you often. While today will be a long and trying day it is one more day towards your new and wonderful journey together. I agree with you that Claire is a special person that God has great plans for. She already has to be an inspiration to other families that are in the same place you were last summer. Heck, I'm not even in that place and you guys are an inspiration to me!! God is good and so is Claire!

About Me 
i enjoy cooking. the wife considers it a chore. i hate yard work. she loves it. we mesh. i love bass fishing, reading, music, baseball, college football and my family.

holidays are a big deal! christmas is my time to shine. i try to add a new recipe each year, but the family demands pretty much the same menu. kinda frustrating!
My cooking triumphs
i cared for my mother in law about 3 months when she had shattered her shoulder. i didn't work, so money was tight. we survived on only wife's paycheck during that time. ma-n-law had diet restrictions. it was difficult to make cheap, nutritious meals everyone would eat. we prospered as a family and learned alot about each other's strenghths and weaknesses.
My cooking tragedies
a stove top fire. i explained that one already. the grill falling over was another one...oops grill season is here! i love the tragedies...those are the ones that i'll always remember!
