Me and my toddler princess
About this Cook
I Enjoy cooking, its a way i relieve all the stress that pops up in my life, i am currently a full time registered nursing student and i am crazy about bakeing..before a huge exam i always try to bake the day before so i can calm my nervves with the sweet things ive created bakeing from my own kitchen, other things i enjoy doing are raising a 2 year old daughter along with running, jogging, dancing and playing volleyball. I love to entertain people by feeding them, i have a filipina background and in our culture we like to impress people with our food (pampanga) i love to see the facial reactions of my friends and family when they try my latest concontion! Also, i enjoy cooking because not only is it fun but its a much cheaper and healthier way to nourish our bodies!
My favorite things to cook
My Favorite things too cook varys with what im in the mood for, im very open to different and new exotic recipies especially when it calls for odd and healthier ingredients(or something my food picky toddler will eat!)but i really enjoy cooking filipino,chinese,puerto-rican and soul food recipes, only because these are my favorite types of food to eat. But i love bakeing chocolate chip cookies and cinnamon rolls.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My favorite family traditions for cooking are makeing huge dinners for the New Year celebration, we make lumpia, pancit( sort of like chow mein but better!) and turkey, ham and grilled tilapia. i love eating my cultures food but i kinda have to admit cooking with family is alot more fun because i have my grandmother there to guide me to even better family secret recipes and teach me to become better at what i love to do. My favorite dish that i look forward to every year are two things (but i dont put them together lol) my mothers galzed ham with a pinenapple-mustard sugar something glaze oh its DEEEEVINNNE and her homemade gravy from the turkey jucies. i really should ask her to put that recipe on here because its just not fair to have something so deeliC and not share it!
My cooking triumphs
well what started this whole love for cooking was my aunties, they always needed my help in the kitchen and i never ever disagreed! But the first thing ever i learned how to make was scrambled eggs and i was only 8! ever since then i have been twisting recipes with my own magical touch(too my point of view)anyway i recently started bakeing brekfast pastries for my hubby because he needs something healthier to eat then bacon eggs n whatever everyday so i started with muffins that were extrodinary and i havent stopped since i make doughnuts, cinnnamin rolls, breads, biscuits who knows whats next?! as a non professional cook i think its only gets better everytime i try something new that adds onto my next cooking triumphs ...it all started with scrambled eggs
My cooking tragedies
My tragedies are simply to have fun and keeping it clean and organized as i go along, one thing is i cant cook with a huge messs to juggle around, but i like to follow given recipes the exact way the submitter gave them because who knows i might actually like the way they like it THEN i make my changes if i need too;but anywhoo i love this website and i think its just wonderful how all of us can come together and switch recipies and spread the love...
