Sweet and Sour Meatballs

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2009
Thanks for the quick and easy recipe I needed to find! Used frozen meatballs because it was a last minute request to bring something to the party. Put evertything together and cooked on low for 4 hours. Doubled the recipe and used about 130 frozen one inch meatballs. All were gone within a few hours.

Burrito Pie

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2009
Very good!!! I took a chance and made this for some dinner guests who like mexican food. I halved the recipe for the 4 of us and it was the perfect amount with no left overs. The men did have second helpings. I doubled the tortilla layers and spread the beans on top of tortillas. Used salsa instead of taco sauce and added more cheese. Opted for no olives for our tastes. Thanks for the recipe idea.

Nancy's Chicken in Puff Pastry

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2009
Very good and simple recipe. Make sure your chicken has cooled a bit before wrapping in pastry shells...it will melt them and make holes when you fold it over. My young kids liked it...we called it chicken in a doughnut.

Made this twice now and followed recipe exactly. Not a fan of chicken thighs, so next time I will try chicken breasts. Great flavor and the house smells great!!!

Simple Time Pork Chops

Pork chops were nice and moist, but the flavor was not "WOW" for us. Just tasted like seasoned pork chops with cheese on top. I actually could not taste the cheese really.

Italian Style Meatloaf I

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2009
Excellent change to meatloaf!!! Love the tomatoes and mozzarella cheese. Mine was not mushy at all. Followed recipe exactly plus added alittle chopped onion. Drained and sqeezed tomatoes on a paper towel. Baked for one hour and then 5-10 minutes with the foil off to brown top. Tested with meat thermometer at an hour. Drained grease by tipping pan a couple of times towards the end. Family loved it!

Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies III

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2008
Exactly what I was looking for!! I had some from a store bakery and said I have to find a recipe, and this was it! These are soft, cake-like cookies with a mild pumpkin flavor. I also added a 1/2 tsp of nutmeg. In my second batch I only put half the amount of chocolate chips. I made the mistake of storing in a ziploc bag...they are too soft and slightly sticky. Thank you---great fall cookie!!!

Hash Brown Casserole II

I made this recipe for a baby shower brunch and it received rave reviews!! Great texture and flavor. I used "southern-style" hashbrowns. Next time I will try the corn flakes without sauteing them in butter.

Easy Pasta Fagioli

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2008
Flavor was great!! I too followed the recommended changes from other reviews: 15 oz. diced tomatoes, 15 oz. tomato sauce, 32 oz chicken broth. I omitted the celery since my family does not like cooked celery. I could not find ditalini pasta, so used small shells I had on hand. My mother-in-law stopped by and tasted it and asked for the recipe. Although other reviewers mentioned their kids eating this up, mine wouldn't try it, but they don't try many new things (they are 1, 3, and 4). Looking forward to the leftovers and trying with it with hamburger some time.

These are great!! I boiled the ribs for at least one hour and then placed on the grill because my oven is broken. I have made these 3 times and I still have not made enough for my family of 4 because they love them. Thanks for the recipe!!

Avocado and Tomato Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2008
This salad is good, but the dressing does not make the salad look appetizing. I did use a lot less dressing then the recipe states but the veggies are sitting in a pool of brown liquid. My kids (who are young) wouldn't try it, and my husband said he liked other tomato salads that we have tried better because of the dressing.

Nonalco Punch

Reviewed: Jul. 2, 2008
Great punch!!! Made for a bridal shower with 23 guests and needed 2 batches. The almond flavor is very good. On second batch I only added one cup of sugar because that was all I had left and it still tasted great. Will only add one cup next time just to cut back on the sugar content. Received lots of positive comments on the punch and my husband asked me to make more the next day with the leftover ingredients. Thanks!!

Easy Mexican Casserole

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2008
Good flavors...loved the tomato and green onion (I omitted the olives). I used taco seasoning with the ground beef. My chips did not get mushy at all. I used tostitos. After adding the taco seasoning I drained any excess liquid and also let the ground beef/ salsa mixture simmer at least 30 minutes to absorb liqued. My family ate it right away. When I took a bite before I put the leftovers away the chips were not as crispy. My kids loved the chips inside. Will make again.

Chicken a la Camille

Used chicken legs with skin removed because that is what I had on hand. I sprinkled the seasoning and followed the rest of the recipe. Great flavor. Looking forward to having this again with boneless, skinless chicken breasts.
