Beth's Spicy Oatmeal Raisin Cookies
these were excellent! For a slightly healthier version, I used 1c whole wheat flour and a half cup white, used apple sauce instead of shortening and added ~2tsp of wheat germ. I also used craisins instead of raisins, and that little bit of sweetness was perfect!

Winter Energy Cookies
I swapped half the butter for apple sauce and omitted the raisins (didn't have any) and these turned out incredible! I

Surprise Cake
I made this cake exactly as the recipe was written and was very happy with the results. It was a bit more dense than I expected, but still definitely a cake. Out of the 6 people who ate it, 5 noticed the cayenne and thought it was a good addition. My husband had no idea it was there, but loved it anyway!
