Busy mom who also happens to be an RN. Married to my best friend, Rob since 2007, we have an energetic little girl and are expecting our second baby 01/2011. I love cooking, and experimenting with flavors, and spend way too much time looking up recipes rather than doing house work.
My favorite things to cook
I love to grill . . . especially raw vegies and fish, I love Asian inspired flavors and use a lot of ginger in my cooking. My husband's favorite meal is Bul-go-gi, Korean Barbeque, I buy the sauce at a Korean Market, so its a VERY easy meal but I love making it because he loves it so much.
My favorite family cooking traditions
There are so many . . . my dad taught me to cook since before I can remember. One great tradition is that his family (from West Virginia and Canada) made a dish called fried cream for Christmas. When I was 10 I was old enough to stay up after the other kids and help him make it. Its a complex dish involving lots of sugar, cornstarch and eggs in a sauce pan and you have to be very careful not to scramble the eggs, then refridgerating it over night, breading and frying it while not ruining the shape the next morning. Its still the most difficult thing I've ever made, and I love it becuase I got to make it with my Daddy.
