About this Cook
I'm a nursing student, graduating January 2009 if all goes well. I have been married to the love of my life, Rob, for over a year. We've been together for almost 6 years and he's my best friend. We're expecting our first baby in February. I love cooking, and experimenting with flavors, and spend way too much time looking up recipes rather than doing house work.
My favorite things to cook
I love to grill . . . especially raw vegies and fish, I love Asian inspired flavors and use a lot of ginger in my cooking. My husband's favorite meal is Bul-go-gi, Korean Barbeque, I buy the sauce at a Korean Market, so its a VERY easy meal but I love making it because he loves it so much.
My favorite family cooking traditions
There are so many . . . my dad taught me to cook since before I can remember. One great tradition is that his family (from West Virginia and Canada) made a dish called fried cream for Christmas. When I was 10 I was old enough to stay up after the other kids and help him make it. Its a complex dish involving lots of sugar, cornstarch and eggs in a sauce pan and you have to be very careful not to scramble the eggs, then refridgerating it over night, breading and frying it while not ruining the shape the next morning. Its still the most difficult thing I've ever made, and I love it becuase I got to make it with my Daddy.

Fish Tacos with Honey-Cumin Cilantro Slaw and Chipotle Mayo
Great, but the peppers are SPICY for the mayo. We love spice, but I used one extra and we couldn't eat it, follow the recommended amnt of adobo, or less even!

Stuffed Peppers My Way
Fabulous! We keep coming back to this recipe. The only thing that I would suggest is fresh herbs and some garlic. Yummers

Chocolate Oatmeal Cookies
These are great! Followed the recipe exactly and came out splendidly. Then, the second time I happened to have half of a bag of coconut in the cupboard, so I did coconut instead of oatmeal. DELICIOUS! Have to cook 2 minutes longer, but came out so chocolatey and chewy, sort of like a macaroon but cakier.
