Playgroup Granola Bars

These are great. Didn't have wheat germ, so I just didn't use it. Put in 3/4 c. of peanutbutter and 3/4 c. of mini chocolate chips, instead of raisins [one grandaughter dosen't like raisins :p] Will make these again.

Pastry Cream

I followed the directions to a T and it turned out just as written. I used it for a filling in a Buttermilk pound cake, it was diffently better the next day. The flavors blended together better and it didn't taste so eggy. Thanks.

Buttermilk Pound Cake II

Yum. I used the large fresh lemon and lemon juice, and every thing else the same. I baked it in two 8 inch cake pans for 60 min. Then sliced it into a Tort form with pastry cream from this site and whipped cream cheese frosting. That was rich. lol. Up date. December 20 th '09' I put 2 cups of frozen blueberry's in the batter. YUM!

Black Bean, Corn, and Tomato Salad with Feta Cheese

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2009
I made the salad part as written, pretty much the same with the dressing, but I added alittle more stuff to it. I added about a 1/4 of a cup of balsamic vinager, about a TBSP. of brown sugar, 1/4 tsp. of cumin. I'll make this again. I diffently think this is a great topping for tacos.

Bacon-Wrapped Potatoes

One word. YUM! I saw these the other day on the 'exchange' here, and they taste great. The only different thing I did was added a little minced garlic [I have in a jar] with some salt and pepper. Wrapped it in foil and threw it on the grill. Nice.

Italian Breaded Pork Chops

These are very good. I've made them for years, but never thought of them as a recipe. I just use an egg wash. One egg with a TBSP. of water or two. Brown them and lay them on a preheated cookie sheet to finish.

Flavorful Beef Stir-Fry

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2009
I made this last night very good. I added a little Szechwan Chili Sauce to the meat when it was browned, [we like a little heat] I browned the meat first then started adding my veggies. I just threw them in, I didn't take them out and cook them one by one. I bought the pea pods, but I forgot to put them in. Well next time.

Sharyl's Spicy Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 8, 2009
This was great. We loved the spice's on the chicken. My husband and son both commented on how good the chicken was.It was a little sweet and spicy, Yum. I did do something alittle different [sorry] I drained the oil, used 1/4 c. of orange juice and 1/4 c. of chicken broth,[I keep a container of it in the fridge] scrapped the brown bits up. Put a can of low fat cream of mushroom soup in it. The only reason for that is because we had rice with it and my husband has to have gravy. I'll diffently make this again. Thanks.

Orange Glazed Carrots

Reviewed: Jul. 29, 2009
I've been making these for years, one of my husbands favorites. It's best with orange juice, but sometimes I don't have it, so I'll use half a capful of orange extract. If you use that, be careful because it is strong. :)
