Baked Beef Stew
Happy Halloween
About this Cook
I'm a mother of four, and a Grandmother of three. I've quit smoking for one year now March 5 2008.Also lost 45 pounds in that time frame. So I've been "trying to" cook and eat healthier.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook for the Holidays. Big meals. I really like all kinds of foods. I try to make things look good.As well as taste good.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Fried chicken. My father was from the south, so I try to keep the tradition going with my kids, teaching them how to make it. I'm not big on black eyed peas, so I make corn on the cob.
My cooking triumphs
Since I've joined this site. I've had a blast making and trying new recipes. I love making pizza on the grill. It's fabulous. I've also started baking alot more cookies. My husband and son are happy about that.
My cooking tragedies
When I over cook something, or burn it; It's frustrating. Last but not least, there's "delivery". Also, I can't make a "meringue". I've tried, and it just dosen't work. Someday?...

Playgroup Granola Bars
These are great. Didn't have wheat germ, so I just didn't use it. Put in 3/4 c. of peanutbutter and 3/4 c. of mini chocolate chips, instead of raisins [one grandaughter dosen't like raisins :p] Will make these again.

Baked Beef Stew
This was so good. I kind of tripled the recipe by adding, three pounds of beef, one two pd. bag of baby carrots, three pd. bag of red potatoes, one bag of frozen peas. and one onion soup mix [dry]. Kept the one can of tomatoes. Put it in my Dutch Oven and baked at 425 for 2 1/2 hours. Give or take. Wounderful.

I've never done these before. So good, and pretty easy to make. Thanks!
