Apple Crisp II

This is THE BEST crisp topping ever. I just use whatever fruit I have and this topping makes it fantastic. I'd give it 10 stars if I could

Annie's Fruit Salsa and Cinnamon Chips

It was good but a little overrated. Looked beautiful but wasn't necessarily memorable.

Caramel Apple Pork Chops

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2009
Very good. It definitely needed more sauce so I doubled the recipe and it turned out very good. I think I need to *perfect* it for our family's tastebuds, but I thought it was a refreshing change that was quite good.

Spooky Witches Fingers

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2009
Five stars for realism! I took them to a potluck and some people were initially scared to try them because they looked so realistic. **Special note, though** the fingers have to be made REALLY skinny, about the size of a small pencil, in order to come out cooked looking real. They expand A LOT in the oven. The taste was pretty good too, although they could use a bit of frosting, someone suggested.

Slow-Cooker Chicken Tortilla Soup

This is the best soup ever! My husband asks for it every week, and I have had several people ask me for the recipe. Love it!

Iced Pumpkin Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2009
I gave this four stars because although the flavor was perfect, the consistency was a little too cake-like for my taste.

Rhubarb Strawberry Crunch

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2009
This was delicious and I didn't adjust a thing. Everyone went back for seconds! My husband has claimed to loathe rhubarb forever, but I think I might have made a believer of him! Will certainly consider this a summer dessert staple.

Chex® Muddy Buddies®

Easy, delicious, a real crowd pleaser. They are always devoured first at a pot luck or holiday party and I have yet to meet someone who doesn't love these. I use milk chocolate chips and they are delicious. Definitely a safe bet for those who want to bring something that everyone will love.

Chicken in a Pot

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2009
This. Was. Amazing. We have decided to rotate it into our regular meals. I can't believe how much I liked it considering how few ingredients it called for, and it was relatively easy. I made a few changes, such as doubling the sauce (a necessity!) based on previous reviews and I added an onion and the garlic to the pan with the chicken to get some good flavor. I used italian flavored breadcrumbs and italian seasoning as well as a few shakes of some red pepper flakes. We served this over noodles and I was in heaven. Thanks for a great recipe!

Disappearing Marshmallow Brownies

Reviewed: Jun. 3, 2009
These were really pretty good. They were very butterscotchy so if you're not a fan of that flavor, take note. They didn't cook very evenly so the insides were gooey but the edges were very cakey. I would give them 3.5 stars, but everyone around me seemed to love them, so I gave them a 4. I'd make this again for a crowd pleaser (pot luck, community function etc), but probably not for my family.

Braised Balsamic Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2009
This was really easy and pretty tasty. It had a lot of flavor but I feel like it needed depth to it, it was sort of a one-note dish. My husband liked it and I would make it again for its ease but it wasn't a real stunner, stand-out dish.

Kay's Spaghetti and Lasagna Sauce

Reviewed: May 27, 2009
Wow, I didn't think I would like this as much as I did because it sounded just like a basic meat sauce, but I really enjoyed it! I used just a 14 oz can of stewed tomatoes because I like a chunkier sauce and I used just one bell pepper. Will definitely make this again, thanks for a great easy recipe!

French Beef Stew

Reviewed: May 14, 2009
This was really very good, my husband loved it and it was very easy to make. I had to make a few changes though, because for whatever reason my broth didn't thicken. I made a roux and added it to the stew and then let it cook for a while longer. I also only added 1 tbsp of dijon mustard to it because my husband wouldn't have liked it if it tasted too different. But the dijon made a big difference! It really added a depth to the broth. It took longer than an hour to cook for me too, probably an hour and a half. I served it in a bread bowl which was amazing! I would definitely make this again, especially because you can wing it with this recipe and play around with veggies etc.

Chocolate Chip Dream Bars

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2009
These looked so good, but they turned out NOTHING like the photo. I was really disappointed in them as they were overly gooey (normally I love gooey!) and had no depth to them. I used a much smaller pan than a 9x13 and the bars still turned out really really thin. I didn't even bother with the chocolate sauce since they weren't good enough as it was. My husband loves everything and he didn't like these bars very much. I will keep looking... :(
