About this Cook
I love to cook in an almost indecent passionate type way but I will hardly ever eat what I cook. I cook for others not myself. I love food and will do nothing for hours on end but read and create recipes. I'm currently writing down the family recipes that have so far eluded all types of documentation, challenging but worth it. Food and tradition go hand in hand in my family.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook asian and southern food the most but my husband is Italian so I learned to make my own pasta's and sauces so that our son could experience the different foods my husband and I both grew up eating. I also love traditional mexican food, yummy!!
My favorite family cooking traditions
EVERYTHING! I grew up in the kitchen and have absorbed everything my mom and lola and numerous aunts and uncles have taught me.
My cooking triumphs
I recently taught myself to bake and have found out (not to be conceited) that I'm pretty damn good. Hah I've always thought that I would be a terrible baker because of all the horror stories associated with baking, but pshaw to that.
My cooking tragedies
French cuisine! I've never gotten the hang of it. I wish that I could find a teacher patient enough to walk me through french cooking.

French Silk Chocolate Pie I
Really great recipe!! What I did to fill up the extra space [it really isn't enough filling and I didn't think of doubling the mix until I read the reviews] was make a batch of whipped cream and just piped that in and then sprinkeld chocolate over the whole thing.

Real New Orleans Style BBQ Shrimp
I have a friend who lives in New Orleans and she came to visit for a while, bringing this recipe back with her. I fell in love just like she said I would. Tastes great with jasmine rice and garlic bread (lots of carbs but well worth it). I didn't get a chance to ask her for the recipe before she left and this one turned out exactly the same. Delicious!!

Red and Green Christmas Jalapeno Jelly
I remember the first time I tried this jelly (six years ago in middle school) and I was skeptical at first but my teacher talked me into trying it and from then on I was hooked. I've actually been searching for this recipe and am so glad to have found it. THANKS!!!
