About this Cook
I love all types of food but have recently found out I am lactose intolerant and I try to eat more fish then meat. I am always trying to create new quick meals that are healthy that use vegatables, whole grains and fish. I descibe myself as a vegan who eat fish so sometimes cooking gets tricky.
My favorite things to cook
Anything new...and i love using spices makes everything taste better. wWo needs mayo, butter and oils when you have spices?
My favorite family cooking traditions
I love going home since my mom has always been a wonderful cook. She would always make different types of food growing up from Italian to Indian and in a healthy way. I've defiently incorporate those ideals into my cooking.
My cooking triumphs
I've just started baking recently and realized you can have fun with the recipe and add and adjust. For some reason I was always taught to make exact measurements or else it wouldnt work.
My cooking tragedies
Roasted eggplant sauce for whole wheat penne. It took me forever to roast that thing and i tried making the sauce extra healthy and just turned into bland mush.

Garlic Butter
Very good! i cut it down to three serving because I really try not to eat that much butter all the time. i also used garlic powder because that's all i have and a dash of sea salt. I think you are suppose to use unsalted butter for this recipe. i spread this on a baguette i made right out of the oven...heaven!

Crusty French Bread
WOW! so i loved this and this is my first time making bread successfully. I used the rising instructions for the kalamata olive bread though, which you warm the bowl first for the first rising and then the second rising u put it in a prewarmed over (at 150) for 30 min. Speed up the process alot. I also added probally 1/3 cup parmesan cheese and a little garlic powder. I used the garlic butter recipe to put on the bread...yummy!

Curried Spinach Soup
This was good and comforting. I made this for a sunday supper at a freinds and even the non veggies easters liked it. I love curry so that's probally why i liked this so much. I made a few minor changes, i sauteed yellow onions and garlic instead of the green onions and added a pinch of red pepper flakes. Instead of sour cream, I used non fat greek yogurt just because I like the taste better and its so healthy for you.
