Pecan Pie Bars I

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2009
I had to bake the crust for about 25 minutes and when I added the filling I had to bake it for 45 minutes. The ends were a little hard though. I never tasted pecan pie but these were great! I only had about 1 cup of the syrup so I used honey for the extra 1/2 cup of syrup needed.

Cranberry Orange Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2009
Very good cookies! I used a bag of fresh cranberries and pulsed them in the food processer. I baked mine at 375 degrees and baked for 12 minutes not a second longer! For some reason one of the last trays burned at 12 mins. So the very last tray went in for only 11 minutes and came out perfect. I think this cookie needs the glaze it gives it that extra pow! I used the zest from an entire orange in the dough and just squeezed the juice from the orange into the dough mixture, I forgot to save some zest for the icing so I just used about 1 tsp of orange extract.

Chocolate Mint Cookies I

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2009
These were wonderful and so easy. I only chilled the dough in the freezer for 15 mins and had no trouble at all with the dough. I did as another reviewer suggested and microwaved butter/sugar mixture for a min and then whisked it until all was well blended, also did the same when I added the choc chips. I used the Andes Creme De mint. I got about 5 dozen cookies out of this. i had to wrap them up very tightly and put them in my fridge downstairs to keep from eating at the very least a dozen cookies in a sitting!

Cream Cheese Cookie Cups

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2009
So easy to make, I used premade cookie dough on my first batch and then on the 2nd go around(believe me there will be a 2nd go around) I used the Betty Crocker Choc Chip Cookie mix. They are fabulous and the presentation is fantastic! I made the choc. chip with the cream cheese filling and I also made some with choc filling. I also did peanut butter with choc filling. I just added some cocoa until I got the chocolately color I wanted. I did add some cool whip to the filling. Will be making these again, thanks for the great recipe!

Bourbon Sausage

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2009
I made this for my daughter's birthday, it went over well. No one raved about it but everyone did eat it. I subbed Jim Bean for the Bourbon, cooked it beforehand and then put it in a slow cooker to keep it warm. Very easy to make.

Sauteed Apples

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2009
This was very good. I pretty much followed the recipe, I just added about 1/2 teaspoon of nutmeg, also 1 teaspoon of vanilla, and I upped the cinnamon to 1 teaspoon. I think next time I may cut down the butter to 2 Tbl, I'm thinking I won't miss it! Served with vanilla ice cream.

This was really good. I made it the day before I served it, also added red onions and green peppers. I also subbed dried parsely for the cilantro because I didn't have any. I also add cucumbers or whatever is on hand and it always turns out great!

Chocolate Banana Cream Pie

Made this on Sunday night served on Tuesday after dinner, was very good, just added an extra 1/2 of bakers chocolate, and shaved some choc on top, was very good and easy. I did not add coconut, I just don't like it. I will make this pie again.

Italian Love Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2009
This was OK not bad, but not great. If I make this again, I will definitely use a 15 in pan I didn't really get 3 layers, there wasn't enough room in my pan for the cake to do it's thing. Mine looked more like a marble cake.

Coconut Cream Pie I

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2009
I made this for Easter, a few people thought I had bought it. Everyone who tried it loved it, I didn't try it just don't like coconut, so I'm taking the other's opinion on this one. I used a graham cracker crust, toasted the coconut, and used 2 small packages of the coconut pudding. Will be making this again, thanks for super easy crowd pleasing recipe!

Everyone who tries these loves these. The peanut butter ones are better than a Reeses Egg! Never tried the coconut just don't like coconut. I made mine small about the size of of walnut, I used a teaspoon to help me make the egg shape. I will be making these every Easter.

Perfect Apple Pie

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2009
This was my first attempt at baking an apple pie and it was a complete success. It was very easy. Be sure to put a cookie sheet covered with foil under your pie to avoid a mess in your oven and for easy clean up of cookie sheet. I used gala, empire, and granny smith apples.

Tiramisu Bowl

I've made this dozens of times, its always a hit. Most of the time I omit the rasberries, makes no differnce on taste, they are there more for presentation. I use the french vanilla cool whip, takes this over the top.

Fruit Pizza

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2009
This was good, at first I had a little trouble rolling out the cookie dough, but then I sprinkled powdered sugar on my pizza pan and also on top of my dough and it helped with the stickiness. I also had to cook the dough for more like 22 minutes to get the center cooked. Was a hit at my gathering.

Anything that makes my daughter ask if she can have another portion of something after she takes only a bite or two gets 5 stars! I followed the recipe to a "T" except I did not add the celery, because of my kids. Mt husband ate at least 4 sandwiches. Great recipe, definite keeper.
