About this Cook
I am retired, and enjoying life. My heritage is a mixture of french canadian and irish. A combination made in heaven.
My favorite things to cook
As a new englander I love seafood dishes and enjoy cooking anything from the sea. I like baking and making french bread is the best smelling thing to make.
My favorite family cooking traditions
The french in me loves the pork pies that I can remember my great grandmothers cooking at the holidays. But I also love the ragus and the stews that have been handed down.
My cooking triumphs
Had to bake a three tier circus wagon cake for my daughters 6th birthday. At the time I was a not so good cook/baker. But the cake was wonderful. I also had to make a cake for the youngest daughter, she wanted a castle with the turrets and drawbridge. My girls are adopted and are only 2 months apart. The youngest was also turning 6. So within two months I had 2 nervous breakdowns but the end results were priceless.
My cooking tragedies
When I was young and dumb the marketing world came out with the roasting bags for turkeys. Made my first turkey in a brown bag, followed the directions and blew the door off of the oven on my apartment sized stove because I neglected to pierce holes in the bag. But we still ate the turkey.

Indian Carrots, Peas and Potatoes
Great receipe. I made it to go with baked chicken wings and it was a big hit. Unfortunately I didn't have any carrots in the house so I substituted frozen corn. It actually worked well. Everyone who ate it wanted to know how I found this receipe. Thanks for sharing with us.
