Slow Cooker Split Pea Sausage Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2009
Very good! I did make a few changes though. I omitted the celery, bay leaf and sausage and used leftover diced ham from Thanksgiving and cooked with the ham bone. I also halved the recipe and threw half of the finished soup in the blender to thicken it up before serving. A little salt and pepper before serving and it was delicious!

Chicken Tortilla Soup V

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2009
It was kind of bland. I added a little taco seasoning and some hot sauce. It was easy, but just OK.

Tacos in Pasta Shells

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2009
I was skeptical at first, but they turned out great with a minor change. I used taco seasoning instead of chili powder because it sounded too bland. Overall, a good quick meal that freezes really well.

Swedish Meatballs I

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2009
This was really good and easy with a few modifications. I can only rate the sauce since I used premade frozen meatballs. I threw the 2 cans of soup and evaporated milk in my small crockpot with about 1 tbsp garlic powder and let it heat until warm. I then poured it over the frozen meatballs in a 9x9 pan and baked at 350 for 30 mins. Before serving, I mixed in 1/4 cup sour cream and served over egg noodles (I also omitted the parsley). I will definitely make it again!

Colleen's Slow Cooker Jambalaya

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2009
This was a good base recipe, but after I followed it almost too the letter, it was kind of bland. I think next time, I'll look for a better cajun spice since I think that might have been part of the problem.

Mushroom Chicken Parmesan

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2009
I made a few changes to the recipe since, as posted, it sounded a little bland. I added some minced garlic and garlic salt to the butter before coating the chicken and added some garlic powder to the flour. Instead of whipping cream, I used half and half. After baking for 45 mins the sauce was a little thin so I spooned some out to put over whole wheat spaghetti noodles and added more parmesan cheese to thicken it up. After my alterations, this recipe was great. It tasted a lot like my chicken alfredo without the hassle of being chained to the stovetop. I will definitely make again with my alterations.

Garlic Cheddar Chicken

Reviewed: May 27, 2009
Wow! This was so easy and delicious! My husband and 2 year old daughter ate it all up. I didn't have fresh parmesan cheese so I used the grated parmesan from a container and it was still amazing. Definitely a new staple in our house!

Playgroup Granola Bars

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2009
These were just OK. I made a few of the changes suggested, but in the end, they came up short. Maybe they're better with all the oil and sugar, but that defeats the purpose of a healthy granola bar.

Easy White Chicken Enchiladas

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2009
Easy and good! I added a bit of shredded cheese on top and used chopped green chilis instead of green salsa (all the green salsa I found contained MSG) Next time, I will use less of the Queso dip, but overall a great recipe.

Garlic Croutons

So easy! I made these when I realized I forgot to pick up croutons at the store. I used plain wheat sandwich bread and sprinkled them with a bit of garlic salt and parmesan cheese before baking. They were delicious!

Honey Mustard Dressing II

Great recipe! I made a few additions and it was awesome. I doubled the original recipe, added 1 tbsp olive oil, 1 tbsp rice vinegar and a dash of black pepper. I served it over a spinach salad with garlic croutons.

Creamy Rice Pudding

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2009
This was great! I used extra instant rice and was a little concerned it would be too mushy, but it was SO good. I didn't have raisins so I left those out. I made it for my baby girl when she was sick and she loved it. I may cut the sugar back by just a bit next time, but otherwise delicious!!!

Campbell's Kitchen Beef Wellington

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2008
This recipe was just OK. I seasoned the mushroom mix with a touch of salt, but otherwise followed it to the letter. It was way too rare with the recommended cooking time and the pastry fell off the meat. It looked really pretty and impressive until I cut it and it bled all over the cutting board. I threw it in for an extra 20 mins.

Chicken Scampi I

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2008
This was really good and easy. I didn't have lemon juice, so I sprinkled a little lemon pepper seasoning on before serving. I served it over whole wheat spaghetti. Even my husband, who hates healthy food ate my leftovers! Next time though, I'd double the sauce.
