Married 22 years, kids in college. I love to read, write, cook, bake and garden. I enjoy having people over and feeding them! I love to bake. I love to cook new things. I occasionally like a real challenge--like to try and perfect a dish. Other times I like to see how simply I can make something that tastes really good.I especially like to find make ahead recipes for entertaining. Making and canning apple butter is a fall tradition I learned form my grandma. Lots of types of Christmas cookies! Soups and slow cooked dinners in fall. Salads and BBQ in summer. We all like to try new foods from around the world. Whenever people want more or want the recipe! The time I tried to make a great vegetarian "loaf" out of carrot pulp from a juicer. Tasted like sawdust --this was the only thing my husband couldn't choke down! He's blessedly undescriminating! The time my hair (when it was long)got cought in the blades of my stand mixer while cooking with two toddlers. The time I cooked enchiladas I'd made ahead and froze. They had plastic wrap under the foil and I cooked it all together -- for guests!
