About this Cook
Last year when I got married, I barely knew my way around a kitchen. But... thanks to allrecipes.com and the cooks that publish their recipes, I can say that my cooking is way better and someone is always asking for a recipe! I have truly truly come to LOVE cooking. It is my favorite pastime!!! I also started taking recipes and trying out my own little twist on them or adding a few extra things to adjust to my families taste. Mostly all of them have been sucesses. I can make many things from scratch now and when I tell people I made all of it homemade they are just amazed! I love the look on their face.
My favorite things to cook
Pasta, bread, casseroles, roasts, pizza, and good homecooked cajun meals!
My favorite family cooking traditions
I love all our traditional foods for holidays. Especially, green bean casserole!! My husbands family makes a wonderful cranberry salad, and also a mirliton stuffing. Its delicious!
My cooking triumphs
At the beginning of winter (2008), my husband invited some people over and we were chopping up some wood. My BIL had been hungry for gumbo, so we decided to make it. I was elected and it was my first one. I wasn't nervous but I asked my husband alot of questions... it came out great!!!
My cooking tragedies
i can't really think of any... but i can say that i really don't like to eat my own cooking.

Chantal's New York Cheesecake
I had an 11 inch pan and I didn't adjust the baking time or the heat of the oven so the edges came out a little dry and a little dark for my taste but the middle was so creamy and delicious!!! I will definately make it again and cook it on 300-325 until I get it perfect. Everyone else didn't think it was too dry or too brown. EVERYONE LOVED IT!!! Thanks. P.S. I was always very intimidated when it came to cooking cheesecake, but with this recipe and all the tips... its a breeze!!!!

Man-Lovin' Potatoes
I made these and the WHOLE family LOVED them. I'm making them again today. I asked my husband if he wanted these again and his response was Oh yeah you can make those!

My Favorite Sesame Noodles
Two of my daughters and I could only eat alittle bit of this. My other daughter and husband wouldn't touch it. It wasn't disgusting, just wasn't for us. Thanks anyway.
