About this Cook
Cooking is a hobby. I enjoy the research of recipes based on a particular ingredient. It's fun to find new and interesting recipes, and share with friends and family.
My favorite things to cook
No real favorites. I like to try new recipes.
My favorite family cooking traditions
As a kid, my mom made the BEST lasagne. I still make it today.
My cooking triumphs
Houston Rodeo Cookoff cooking team 8 years (and counting)
My cooking tragedies
Although it was nothing significant, I made a cole slaw that called for grated onion. I followed the recipe (NOT from this website) and threw it away after 2 tastes. The onion was over-powering.

Tartar Sauce II
Very good tartar sauce. I left out the egg, and added a couple more dashes of hot sauce. My friends thoroughly enjoyed it. One suggestion: make it the night before. the flavors meld much better than chilling for 30 minutes.

Crab Cakes III
First time I ever made crab cakes. A few modifications: used 8 oz of crab meat. 12 oz of shrimp (Tangy Shrimp) and 6 oz of salmon (Chili Garlic BBQ Salmon). blended the fish in a food processor. modified the ingredients a bit since it was less than 4 pounds. Also, on the sauce, for some reason the vegetable oil killed the fragrance of the cilantro. So I added more cilantro, lime juice and an egg. Turned out GREAT.

Chile Garlic BBQ Salmon
I followed the recipe as written. Marinated the salmon fillet for 4 hours. and due to rain, had to bake in the oven. Baked the salmon in the sauce. Turned out very tasty. will definitely make again.
