About this Cook
I just recently began cooking for the family- we have always been a "take-out" type of family. I really enjoy it but find myself having a hard time even just understanding basic lingo. My mom never cooked so I dont have family recipes to pass down. I am terribly afraid of experimenting but yet would love to do it. I am open to most suggestions, especially for quick & easy & healthy meals. Also, anything kid friendly is a must.
My cooking tragedies
I recently tried making home made, from scratch Ravioli. Dont have a ravioli roller or cutter so decide to bake the pasta. Needless to say, about 4 hrs worth of effort and at least a pound of flour was wasted. Not sure I'll try again, although the idea is nice.

Zesty Tilapia with Mushrooms
My very picky family loves this recipe! It is fantastic- I have made without the mushrooms & I have also substituted butter with vegetable oil spread (I cant believe its not butter) and the taste is fantastic!
