Caramel Popcorn Balls

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2008
I tried these today to give away for Christmas. I used 1 and 1/2 cups unpopped corn and made it in our airpopper. It made lots of popcorn balls, so there was plenty for giving and eating! My four children absolutely loved them, and they were very easy to make...I was quite surprised with the simplicity. It is raining today, and that seemed to have no effect on this delicious treat. I did cook it to soft ball stage.

Truck-Stop Buttermilk Pancakes

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2008
OHH YEAH! These were by far the best pancakes I have ever made in my life!!! I could not ask for a better recipe and I hope I never lose this one. I used my electric griddle and it worked great. Just be careful to lightly brown on each side. Overbrowning will cause your pancakes to be harder. Thank you for the recipe!!! And I agree with the other person that said these top IHOP's. I think if IHOP went with this recipe, my budget would be in some serious trouble!! I love these and will use only this recipe from now on.

Baking Powder Biscuits

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2008
these were really good. The dough was really soft and I couldn't roll it, (probably my mistake), so I spooned it onto my pan and the biscuits were soooo soft and flaky...so light...the best I have ever made! I greased my pan with butter before adding the dough.

Man Pleasin' Jambalaya

Reviewed: Jul. 2, 2008
This was really good. My kids loved it, and even my lovey hubby liked it (that's saying alot - he is really picky about creole recipes). I used Tony's creole seasoning in this and I don't think I added enouph, but the chicken flavor really helped the rice alot! I'll make it again!

Fudge Cake

OHHHH WOW! This was soo good! This is going to be my favorite chocolate cake recipe! I used buttermilk instead of the milk and lemon, and because I love chocolate so much, I used 3/4 of a cup of cocoa. I also added about 3tbs of instant coffee granules. I put it into two 9" pans thinking I might freeze one, but it was so good there was no way I would freeze it- our family would have eaten every last bite- so I gave one away. I hope they enjoy it as much as we did!! I iced it with a dark chocolate frosting.

Breakfast Kolaches

Reviewed: Jun. 16, 2008
Thank you Melissa!!! I just cannot tell you how excited I am to have this recipe. I am sitting here eating one, and ohhhh it is so good! I did make a few changes.. I did the dough just like the recipe says - it was perfect. I didn't have any smokies, so I used ground sausage and shaped it into little smoky shapes and cooked it while the dough was making. Once my dough was done, I did the ball thing with no problem and instead of waiting 15 min. I went ahead and flattened them and put the sausage on it with a little piece of velveeta. Then I rolled them up and let them sit the 15 minutes on the greased baking pan. Baked to perfection in 10 minutes. Thank you!!!

Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2008
We thought this recipe was really great. My cookies were so chewy and delicious, melting in our mouths... there was NOTHING cakelike about my cookies! I did the spooning the flour into the measuring cup and leveling off...that must have helped. I used two sticks of Blue Bonnet butter and it worked great! Thanks for a great recipe!

Luscious Chicken Pot Pie

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2008
This was pretty good- I made two pies because we have a big family, and it went over well. I usually make chicken pot pie with a homemade white gravy, so I was nervous about using the soups, but it works out good if you are in a pinch for time. I added Tony's creole seasoning for extra flavor.
