Summer Fruit Galettes

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2008
This is the first rating and review for this recipe. This was very good and very easy! This recipe makes 2 Galettes, one is strawberry/blueberry and one is peach/blueberry.I don't suggest making the peach unless you can find really soft peaches.Next time I'll just make 2 strawberry/blueberry ones.I didn't have ice cream to serve with it,but as stated in the recipe, it would of gone perfectly with this dessert.I will definitely make this again!Thank you Shannonlolly for this tasty dessert!

Swiss-Stuffed Chops

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2008
The measurements in this recipe were way off...that was the first sign that I knew this would not be good! I had to double everything except the bread crumbs...that I had to triple! I also had to add salt + pepper to the pan juices when making the gravy. The flavor of this recipe was not very good. The combination of swiss cheese, parsley and mushrooms was not very pleasing. This dish just did not have much flavor. The only decent thing in this dish was the gravy! I really don't think this recipe was even tested. Sorry Joan Hallford, but I can not rate this any higher.

Apple Ham Grilled Cheese

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2008
This was a unique kind of grilled cheese... and I like unique! You can taste all the different layers of the flavors while your eating it.It tasted like a combination of french toast and grilled cheese. This would probably be a good recipe for a brunch.I followed the recipe exactly. I used a granny smith apple and smoked ham, but the recipe doesn't specify, so you can use whatever you like.

Easy Chicken Divan

Reviewed: May 31, 2008
This was very good!It was another unrated recipe and I'm glad I tried it!The only change I made was to add peas and to saute the chicken.I cooked the divan for 25 minutes but it didn't brown, so I put it under the broiler for 4 minutes. Then it got nice and golden! It is not exactly a low fat recipe, so I won't be making it too often.

Ham 'n' Onion Frittata

Reviewed: May 27, 2008
This was very good! I had to tweek it to make it healthier.Instead of canned fried onions,I used thin sliced fresh onions(1 large yellow).Instead of jarred processed cheese,I used shredded cheddar.Since I wasn't using all the processed ingredients,I added salt + pepper to taste. I also added parsley for color.I will definitely be making this again.

Orzo with Parmesan and Basil

This was very good and very easy!!! The basil gave it a mild pesto flavor. This dish had a very authentic italian flavor. I doubled the recipe exactly, and it worked out fine. This dish is a very nice change from rice.I will definitely be making this quite often.

Cran-Broccoli Salad

Reviewed: May 12, 2008
This salad was very good.It is a very unique salad.I liked all the flavor of the dressing, with the garlic, lemon and sweetness of the maple syrup(100% pure)The cranberries are also a nice touch.I used chopped almonds instead of pecans.I would make this again when I'm looking for a salad thats a little out of the ordinary. This salad tastes much better when the dressing soaks into it overnight. Also, double the dressing if you like alot of dressing.

This was so very good!I chopped the chicken into bite size pieces and sauteed it with the onion, garlic, cumin and chili powder,to give the chicken as much flavor as possible. Then I added the remaining ingredients.I served it just as suggested.I will be making this quite often!!!

Hawaiian Chicken Kabobs

Reviewed: May 4, 2008
This was very good.I marinated it overnight instead of 2 hours, but it was still not a strong enough flavor. The pineapples held most of the flavor.I think next time I will double the marinade and reserve 1/2 to baste the chicken with while grilling. Then I think it will be perfect! Also the recipe says this is for 8 boneless chicken breast but it was only enough for 4 chicken breasts.Which was just enough for my family of 4.I served this with "Tropical Salad with Pineapple Vinaigrette" and "House Fried Rice",they all went well together! It was a very impressive meal!

Tropical Salad with Pineapple Vinaigrette

Reviewed: May 4, 2008
This was very tastey!I made it without the coconut flakes and the pineapple chunks.I think next time I will make it just as written.I thought it would make it too sweet but now I know it would of been better.I would also double the dressing if you like alot of dressing.I will surely make this again. It has a unique taste...Great when you want to impress your guests!!!

Whipped Cream

Reviewed: May 3, 2008
This was perfect! It was also very easy.I used an electric hand mixer(low setting) and it took a few minutes to get to the soft peaks stage.I had to add a 1/2 a tbls more confectioners sugar than the recipe called for because it was not sweet enough.I served it with strawberries.I will surely make this again!!!

This recipe was pretty good.I didn't have any of the problems mentioned in the other reviews. It was not mushy or bland. It just tasted like very thick chili.I liked it the most out of my 2 girls and husband. So since I was out voted I won't be making too often. But it was good, just not great.

No-Salt Seasoning

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2008
I needed seasoned salt for a new recipe, so I was told by another member(Gina Brown)to check out this recipe and it was great!Of course I had to add 1 Tbls. of salt and I omitted the celery seed(didn't have any)but it was still so good!I actually didn't even know what seasoned salt was until now,but I think I'll start using this alot!!!

Black Bean Pinwheels

SO TASTY!Very easy,no cooking involved.I served it as a dinner not an appy.I also served it warm from the microwave.I didn't slice it up I served it whole like a burritto.I suggest using 2 tsp. of onion powder instead of 1/4 tsp.onion salt.I serve this once a week when I'm in a hurry.

Oven Fries

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2008
This was very good. The trick to keep them from sticking to the pan is not only oil the pan, but place the potatoes skin side down. That way they did not stick at all.I left them in the oven an extra 10 minutes to brown them a little more.I was worried they would be sweet with the sugar but they weren't.I made these with "Thats a Meatloaf" a recipe from this site.I will definitley make this again.
