Fiber One® Chocolate-Peanut Butter Haystacks

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2012
I just LOVED the taste of these! Peanut butter chocolate crunch...YUM!!! I made these three different ways! I made them into birds nests as suggested by Gemakentucky and I made them into monsters as suggested by Jennalenna and I also made them into haystacks as suggested by Fiber One! I will be making these for Easter and Halloween! Great recipe and so easy!

Firecrackers

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2012
This was very good! I had to use 'Andy Capp's Hot Fries' because the store didn't have the hot Cheetos. I coated them individually in the white chocolate and sprinkled them with cayenne pepper to make them as hot as the Cheetos. These are so addicting! I can't stop eating them! I will be trying it again when I find the hot Cheetos!

Verenike Casserole for the Slow Cooker

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2012
I was a little nervous about making this one after reading the reviews, so I decided to just make some small changes! I added caramelized onions that I sauteed with salt & pepper. I also didn't cook on low for 6 hours...I cooked it on high for 3 hours because I needed it done quicker! I used smoked ham and added shredded cheddar ontop. And I also sprinkled it with fresh chopped chives for color! This was pretty good! I just wish it was more creamy instead of brothy! But I would make this again!

Slow Cooker Cassoulet

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2012
I first made this as written, but when I tasted it during the last hour of cooking, I thought it was missing something! So I ended up adding 1/2 tsp. liquid smoke, 1 cup of chicken broth because it was a little dry, 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese and 4 oz. of cream cheese! These additions really boosted the flavor and texture! It made it a more smokey, creamy cheesy, hearty dish! I served it over egg noodles!

Slow-Cooker Posole

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2012
This was excellent! A very hearty, authentic, flavorful, stew! I changed it slightly for personal tastes! I used pork and chicken cutlets. I used mild sauce and mild green chilies. I only used 1/2 the oregano and I added 1/2 tsp cumin. I served it with refried beans, cheddar cheese, sour cream and chives...and some homemade italian bread to soak up the broth! This meal hit the spot! Great recipe!

Applesauce Loaf Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2012
This was PERFECT! I made the same changes that Angie Seaman mentioned! Increased the cinnamon to 1 tsp. and omitted the raisins. And I decided to use only 3/4 cup sugar, which worked great! And just like others have said, this doesn't make 2 loaves, just one! I love the fact that this cake is very low fat and very moist! It has a great apple/cinnamon spice flavor that makes your home smell heavenly while this is baking! Thanks for a great recipe!

Pumpkin Gingerbread

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2012
This was PERFECT! I did make some changes just for personal preference! I only used 2 cups of sugar (perfectly sweet enough) and I used 1/2 cup of oil + 1/2 cup applesauce to cut down on the fat! I also only used 3 large eggs. I added 1 tsp. pure vanilla extract and I only used 1 tsp. of salt. This took an extra 10 minutes to bake. This will be my 'go to' gingerbread recipe from now on!

Original NESTLE® TOLL HOUSE® Dark Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2011
I always use Toll House chocolate chips in my cookies! I love walnut chocolate chip cookies! This is a great recipe as is, but I modified it to suit our tastes. I used half the butter, salt and sugar. I formed them into cookie sticks to match my other Christmas cookies in my cookie platter! I always make these every Christmas!

French Toast Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2011
After reading every review I decided to take everyone's advice, so I tweaked this recipe ALOT...and even added my own twist! I cut the eggs down to 4 and the milk down to 2 cups. I added 1 tsp. cinnamon powder and 1/4 tsp. nutmeg. I also cut the vanilla extract down to 1 tsp. but added in 1/2 tsp. almond extract. I also added 1/4 cup of brown sugar. I let the casserole sit overnight in the fridge before baking it for 50 minutes. I also topped it with sauteed apples, with cinnamon and chopped walnuts, after it was baked! With all these changes, it was VERY good! I would definitely make this again!

I make my kale chips the same way except I add a little apple cider vinegar. These are so good! It tastes like broccoli to me! And it just melts in your mouth! BTW...I loved your 'What's Cooking' segment! =)

Crescent Pizza Pockets

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2011
I made these exactly as written, but I used the reduced fat crescent rolls! I just shaped them into domes because it was so much easier! These were VERY good, as I knew they would be because I love anything made with crescent rolls! These were like little fluffy pillows of pizza goodness!

Beer Margaritas

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2011
This is the best margarita I ever had! I made some changes after reading the reviews. I used 1/2 Sprite and 1/2 water...I also used lemonade concentrate instead of limeade. and I used a light beer. I put the mixture in the freezer for a few hours to make it slushy. This is the perfect blend of sweetness, with just a hint of tartness! Perfect!

Ice Cream Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2011
I made this cake with the help of other reviewers! I made only one cake part because I wanted it to be just like a Baskin Robbins cake. I did what ScoobieMama said and it worked great! I lined a 9 inch round cake pan with plastic wrap then added softened ice cream to the lined pan. I put it in the freezer overnight and it was VERY easy to remove. Then I made the boxed cake mix in the same 9 inch round pan. Let it cool in the fridge to make sure its totally cooled. Then I assembled the 2 pieces and frosted it with whipped topping. I covered it with a plastic cake dome and placed it back in the freezer til it was ready to serve, which was 3 days later! It was just like the cake I buy from Baskin Robbins, but it was 1/3 the price! I will always make my own ice-cream cakes from now on!

Out of this World Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2011
This was very good! I made it as written except I used regular broccoli...I couldn't find the alien kind! And I used all wagon wheel, no spiral. I may add some green onion next time...just for more flavor! I did use the black olives, as suggested, and it went very well with this salad!

Johnny Cake

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2011
My first review didn't show up, so here it goes again! I found almost the exact same recipe for this but it was made into pancakes! I loved it! It had double the amount of milk and I used honey instead of sugar. I mixed all the ingredients together and cooked it on a griddle, just like pancakes...also called 'Johnny Cakes'... I served it with a fried egg ontop and sprinkled it with bacon salt and green onions, as you can see in my photo! We loved it!
