Hi, I'm Matthew Burfield. I'm 22 years old and live in Marietta. I like food a lot, so when it came down to choosing a career, I just went with what I love. It's not very difficult to cook, it just takes a lot of patience, attention, and common sense. To me cooking is like being a potion's master. You combine all the ingredients to make an awesome potion, or dish in my case.
My favorite things to cook
I really like making smoothies. They are cheap, easy, quick, healthy, and above all delicious. Cookies are another love of mine. Warm chocolate chip cookies are probably the best feel good food ever. A couple others favorites are pizza's, pastas, decorating cakes, salads, and anything completely new.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I come from a fast-food/box dinner family. My dad might fix a steak or chicken dinner once in a while, but we mostly live on Mcdonald's and hamburger helper. If we had one tradition it would be when my dad cook's oyster dressing for thanksgiving. It's the most delicious dressing that I have ever ate.
My cooking triumphs
My best cooking triumph is when I made a lemon Meringue pie from scratch. It was mouth watering amazing and I was only 15 at the time.
My cooking tragedies
My worst cooking tradgedy was when I made a lemon meringue pie from scratch. I threw it away when I took the first bite of it and I was 22 at that time. I used an old betty crocker recipe and I felt like puking when I bit into the first slice.
