About this Cook
i am 14 years old and have been cooking basically my whole life. i love to make new recipes and have people try them out. my family says i should major in cullinary arts in college! and many people i dont know have been trying my food. My blackberry pie won a blue ribbon in the county fair! made from homegrown berries. my sister is allergic to wheat dairy oats barley and rye, so my main mission in the food world is to bring more options to people with allergies. to possibly make a chocolate chip cookie for her that is as delicious as a wheat and dairy cookie, for example. we have to order a lot of her food, and it is great quality, but i do LOVE to make things for her instead of us buying them. i am a dedicated chef, some might even call me obsessed, but im proud of it! I hope to accomplish my dream of being su chef at a 5 star restaurant, or own my own country cafe, "TLC's Country cafe" I've already got it planned out! ; D
My favorite things to cook
things for my sister, dinner mostly is my favorite meal to cook. I love to make stir frys and chicken, or just goofy things that no one would think to pair up!!!!
My favorite family cooking traditions
We dont have a tradition. we just make what looks good!
My cooking triumphs
probably having people say they like my dishes. or having my sister lick up EVERY BITE of what i made her! that makes me feel accomplished!
My cooking tragedies
OHHHHH BOY!!!!!!! once, my mom ordered a pie for my sister online along with other things, and it came, and we froze it like it said. THEN...we took it out one day and ate it. My dad said "why dont we heat it up so its a little easier to eat." so we put it in the microwave. then i looked at the box and said to my mom, "Mom, we were supposed to bake this!!!!! were eating raw pie!!!!" it was sooo funny!!! then we laughed and put in in the oven. so the next day, we opened the oven to bake something in it and there was the pie, still in the oven, BURNT to a CRISP! it was like coal! but were not stupid, we did turn the oven off that night we just forgot the pie was still in there... okay maybe we are stupid...a little! another time i made vinegar cookies and it said 1 tsp vinegar and i put in a tablespoon, and they turned out to reek of vinegar and didnt even taste good! haha! good times!

Best Bread Machine Bread
i was not impressed with this recipe. when it came out, the outside was quite hard and the inside was very doughy still. some of the edges were burned and the bread itself was very dense. maybe I'm doing something wrong. i dont know. but from what i did, i didnt like it.

Blackberry Pie III
I made this pie and took it too a party...it was a HUGE hit! they said I should enter it in the county fair! I used fresh home grown blackberries, but I used a store bought crust. for the flour, I put in 1/3 cup instead of 3 tablespoons. this got it to be a bit less runny. I tried it again but made my own crust and it was also very good. TIP: let the pie sit in your fridge overnight to thicken up before eating. it is a lot less runny that way. otherwise, VERY nice pie!
