Delicious Ham and Potato Soup
This was such an awesome recipe. I wouldn't call it a soup though, more like a chowder. My husband has never had ham and potato soup before, where as I have. He is a potato kind of guy, but has never rant and raved so much about something I've made for dinner before with potatoes. He told me that this was the best thing that I had ever made and that I should make it more often. The only things I did differently was that I didn't peel my potatoes cause we love potato skin and I added extra chicken bouillion and an extra tablespoon of butter (with extra flour since I added extra butter). We just love our soup super tasty and rich. It was a hit for my whole family. I even brought some to the neighbor and she asked me for the recipe. She LOVED it!! GREAT RECIPE AND THANK YOU FOR ADDING A FAVORITE TO MY FAMILY'S DINNER. :o)

Corned Beef and Cabbage
This was so soooo yummy and EASY! It was the first time I have ever made it and boy was I pleased with the outcome. I did a few things differently though. Instead of doing this in a crockpot I did it over the stove. I didn't have the time to cook it for 8 hours and instead it was done in three hours. I first added the spice packet, sugar, vinegar, pepper, and instead of doing all water I did half water and half apple juice. I then added the 3 lb. brisket and cooked it for about 2 1/2 hours before adding the veggies. Delious! I also added celery and red potatoes and cut the potatoes in half and left the skin on. My kids (ages 4 and 2) LOVED it! And it's pretty hard to get them to eat veggies. I can't wait for my husband to try it tomorrow for leftovers! I will definitely be making this again. :O)
