About this Cook
I'm 23, living in Tel Aviv, Israel. I'm from a Georgian (former USSR) family, where the women make all the food, so I've been helping around kitchens pretty much since I could hold a knife without slicing myself. It's one of the greatest assets I've acquired. Now that I'm an adult and living on my own, cooking has become slightly dangerous. There's never enough left for me to eat after friends and family devour anything I make.
My favorite things to cook
Anything and everything.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Lots and lots of herbs and spices.
My cooking triumphs
About a year and a half ago, my grandfather taught me how to make Suluguni (the georgian version of mozarella). Everyone in my family has been commenting that my Suluguni tastes exactly like my grandma's (bless her soul) used to, and she used to cook for over 20 people on a daily basis.
My cooking tragedies
The first chocolate pudding I ever tried to make (aged 9) looked like dog poo. It didn't taste too far away from it either.
