My family had a meat market and I worked there while I was growing up. I learned a lot about cuts of meat and how to prepare them. I learned to cook from my grandmother and my father. Every holiday, I would be at my grandma's side, helping her prepare all of her traditional holiday meals and baked goods. My dad liked to "cook big". He loved to showcase our meat market by developing new and interesting items to sell to the customers and providing samples as well. I discovered how to make "State Fair" style lemonade. I cannot make a decent pot of coffee!
