GA Peach Pound Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2011
Very tasty cake, didn't really change anything except halved the recipe and baked in a loaf pan and added a splash of OJ (its what I had on hand) as I found the batter very thick and was worried how it would turn out

Buttermilk Pound Cake II

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2010
My first attempt making pound cake and it cam out moist and delicious...I halved it to make a small loaf but added 1 tsp lemon extract and about 1 tsp lemon juice to make it more lemony! Went well with a lemon cream cheese frosting.

Fluffy Canadian Pancakes

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2010
A fantastic base recipe to make your own creations. I halved the recipe and use one egg and add about 1/2 tsp sugar and 1 tsp vanilla to the egg when I hand whisked it. I also add 1/4-1/3 cup oats to the mixture and sometimes add fruit to it for some more oomph....

Great recipe. To add a little zip I also add chili powder (1-2tbsp) to the flour mixture

Broccoli Beef I

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2010
Good recipe...After reading some of the reviews, I marinated the meat overnight with ~2tbsp soy sauce, 4 minced garlic cloves, ~1-2tbsp fresh ginger and ~1 tsbp crushed red pepper to absorb some of the flavours. I also increased the broth and reduced the sugar. Next time I would experiment with some more spices to intensify the flavour.

German Apple Cake I

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2010
I've got this in the oven at the moment and followed users advice to 1/2 the oil and found when i mixed in the flour mixture i was left with a very dry heavy cookie like mixture (so i added some apple juice to thin it out so I can mix it)...is this normal?

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2010
I'm not a soup fan but this was a bi hit and delicious. I left out the ham and added some italian seasoning and fresh chives to the boiling potatoes (removing the chives when the potatoe were cooked). Additionally, I added a bit of cheese to the white sauce and topped it with a sprinke of cheese and fresh chives. Delish!

One Bowl Chocolate Cake III

Absolutely delicious...a success every time and you really cannot mess it up!!! Rich and moist and the only modification I have made is to increase the cocoa powder to 1 cup and use 1/2 cup boiling water and 1/2 cup coffee instead of the full cup boiling water

Classic Tiramisu

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2009
This was my first time making tiramisu as its one of my favourite desserts. It was full off flavour (added one of the small shot bottles of Kahula to coffee) and I left it overnight before serving at a potluck. However, my only complain was it didn't firm up very nicely and was somewhat of a mess serving.

Orange Sponge Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 22, 2009
After being hesistant to try this recipe, I gave it a shot. Batter seemed heavy at first but seems to have lightened up upon addition of egg whites. However, I did have to add about 1-2 tbsp extra OJ to thin out the batter a lil. Cake smells wonderful and since it is a birthday cake I'll not know its texture or heaviness until it is cut.

Self-Filled Cupcakes I

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2009
Great Recipe, fairly simple and a big hit. I left out the choco chips as I didn't have any on hand. Made twice but the second time around used the suggestion to pipe the batter into the cups using a plastic bag with the tip of the bag cut off, made the process soo much easier!

White Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2009
Wonderfully delicious! Made for a friend's b'day party and came out perfect...followed guidelines for baking a cheesecake (ingredients at room temperature, used a water bath). Used seedless raspberry jam as users suggested and I topped it with a white chocolate ganche and frozen raspberries

I got about 12 medium sized muffins Strawberries had area of the muffin a bit mushy :( Add vanilla (1tsp), cinammon (1/2 tsp) and 1/4 cup brwn sugar as other users suggested and sprinkled a bit of cinnamon and sugar on each before baking.

Banana Crumb Muffins

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2009
Wonderful recipe definately a keeper. I omitted the crumb topping to reduce some calories and it was still delish. Added 1 tsp all spice instead of 1/2 tsp nutmeg and 1/2tsp cinnamon as suggested by other users and 1 tsp vanilla.

Spicy Bok Choy in Garlic Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2009
Great recipe and very tasty. It was the first time i made bok choy and it was a side dish for a chinese hot pot. However, I made a few modifications.. only used 1.5tbsp seasame oil, used black bean sauce instead of oyster (as I didn't have any on hand) and reduced the amt of sugar. Also I added the garlic, peppers and ginger to the oil directly to infuse more flavour.
