About this Cook
I am an Army wife whose husband is not deployed but stationed overseas. I am a stay at home mom right now but plan to work when we are at our new station in a few months. I have two degrees, one in music and other in sociology. But I have been a lover of food and cooking since I was very samll. My dad really instilled that love of cooking in me.
My favorite things to cook
Homemade sauces, comfort food that is lower in fat, mac and cheese, desserts, and really anything that can be a challange.
My favorite family cooking traditions
One tradition that I keep for my family is Sunday morning breakfast. We would always have a big breakfast before we got ready for church. It would consist of either grits, eggs, sausage, and biscuits or dad's famous biscuit with chipped beef white gravy. Another tradition I want to restart with my family is handmade eggs rolls for christmas.
My cooking triumphs
My brownies are famous now. It is just an old Nestle recipe but it is a goodie!
My cooking tragedies
I tried blueberry muffins with splenda and honey.....so dry and gross!

Cheesy Chicken and Potato Casserole
the dish turned out good but the recipe was so off. I can't help but wonder if this person actually made this before putting the recipe online. The milk amount was way too much. I had to cook it an hour and 15 mins on 400 just to get it where it was a casserole and not soup. So by the time it was done, my toddler already ate and wouldn't eat this. Not a quick fix dish at all.

Meatloaf With A Bite
This was an AMAZING recipe. I like meatloaf and I make an Italian version but this was so good and easy! I read the other reviews and decided that the salsa amount was off. I used a cup of salsa, Kashi TLC crackers, and no cheese (I'm watching my weight). I cooked it a little too long but it was still really good!
