I don't know what I did wrong with the topping, but it melted into the muffins leaving big holes in them. Although they didn't look that good, they were delicious. I added 1/2 tsp vanilla, 1/2 tsp cinnamon and 1/4 tsp nutmeg into the batter and substituted oil for the butter. A good recipe but next time I won't use the topping and I will try aplesauce rather than the oil.
