Just moved to CA from Charlotte, North Carolina. Very different here. The access to inexpensive fresh produce is amazing - farmer's markets every weekend. I now understand the eat local movement - you really can do it here. Roast chicken is probably my all time favorite food. And a chicken always goes a long way - first the roast, then some chicken salad, then take the remaining meat of the bones and freeze it for pot pie or soup. Cook the bones for stock.
