Well, I am fifteen and vegan and I like to think I can cook. It's a little hard finding a vegan dessert recipe that actually tastes good, so I get a little excited when I do. Before I found out about the meat industry I used to be notorious in my family for my chocolate chip cookies (Chocophiles from this site!) so now it is too bad that I can't eat them anymore. I look forward to finding a new good cookie recipe, or maybe even making my own!
My favorite things to cook
Cookies
Brownies
Soup
Burgers
Cake
Pasta
Rice
Sorbet
Stir fry
My favorite family cooking traditions
My family isn't much of a cooking one, mostly they all just live off of frozen food.
Sometimes, they'll try a bite of whatever I have but it's very rare.
My cooking triumphs
I once made a double decker peanut butter cake, complete with frosting and jam in the middle and it was delicious!
My cooking tragedies
OH my.
I once tried to make meringue kisses and we ended up having to throw out the cookie sheets because they were impossible to scrape off. Just last night I tried to substitute vegan ingredients for a chocolate pudding and it came out tasting like sour rice milk. Two nights ago I tried to make pancakes from an old recipe, substituting soy milk and flax for the eggs, and it produced a rock hard cake.
I really hope I get used to adapting recipes.
