Slow-Cooked Oriental Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2009
I doubled the sauce (there was hardly any to cover the chicken) and only put two boneless chicken breasts in. I cooked it on high for about 3-4 hours. Very tender and turned out really well, especially in the crock pot. But I have another teriyaki recipe that calls for all these ingredients, plus a few more (cooking wine, red pepper flakes) that I like a bit better. But this was good!

Blueberry Oat Waffles

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2009
These were really good! We just got through eating them. I am so full! I substituted whole wheat flour for all purpose flour and left out the lemon juice, pecans and blueberries. I also doubled the recipe (my husband can eat a lot!) but kept the oil the same. I will be making these for breakfast all the time!

Baked Bar-be-que Chicken

Pretty good but the chicken was too juicy for me. I like my chicken drier.

mmmmm..I loved this. I left out the salsa and lettuce and peppers and just sprinkled the taco seasoning over the beans. Quick, easy and delicious!

Good but I don't think it was good enough to make again.

Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Muffins

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2009
These were good, but ever since I tried Downeast Maine pumpkin bread, no pumpkin loaf or muffins will ever be as good. I added 1/4 tsp of cloves and used 1/2 c. of sugar and 1 c. brown sugar. Made 18 muffins and two mini loaves!

Bar-B-Que Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2009
This was good! My family liked it and my husband said it tasted like Tony Roma's bbq sauc. I left out the hot pepper and used actual mustard and white vinegar. I like my bbq sauce more sweet and this was really tangy. But I liked it and won't buy bbq sauce anymore!

Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Muffins

Just made these and they were really good! I substituted the oil for applesauce and added a bit of cinnamon. My husband loved the texture and said they were great! Thank you!

Outrageous Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2008
Amazing! I made about 14 large cookies and the entire batch was gone in half an hour (mind you there was 3 teenage boys around!). My husband told me to never make these again because he didn't want to get fat. I added slightly over 1 c. of oats and think I would add even more next time. I rolled them into balls and barely pressed them down and took them out just before they were done to ensure a chewy cookie. They were delicious and I will be making this often

Wine Jelly

This tasted okay, but a little too much like wine for my taste. I followed the recipe exactly and it set up very well.

I left out the nuts in the crust and the lemon in the filling and these were perfect! I also doubled the filling, mine made 24.

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

These cookies are perfect if you leave them about 1/4" thick and take them out just before they are done. They go great with the Sugar Cookie Frosting and Sugar Cookie Icing.

Soft Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2008
I HATE this recipe! Haha. I have eaten probably 25 of these cookies in the last 4 days. And I'm TRYING to lose all my pregnancy weight from the baby I had 5 weeks ago. At this rate I will weigh more than I did at 40 weeks pregnant! These are the BEST! I cut the salt in half and only used 2 1/2 cups of oats because I added chocolate chips and walnuts. WARNING: THESE ARE ADDICTING! This is a keeper.

These were good enough for me to finish eating the batch, but not good enough for me to make again. I will be sticking to my other pumpkin recipe.

Pie Crust IV

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2008
This was my first time making pie crust so with practice I'm sure it will get better. But it turned out pretty good for the first time. I used margarine instead of shortening and used it to make a chicken pot pie. SO GOOD, can't wait to make it again!

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2008
This was really good. I left out the carrots and celery and only used corn and peas (that was all that I had.). I also didn't use celery seed because I didn't have any, but don't like it anyway. I doubled the sauce but I really didn't need to and had to dump a bunch out. So next time I will not double it. I made my own pie crust (Pie Crust IV) and it turned out SO GOOD! I can't wait to make it again and use more/different vegetables. Next time I will use a deeper pie plate or a casserole dish.

Mexican Mole Sauce

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2008
I am rating this because I used it for a base recipe but added a lot of my own touch. I used 2 oz. of actual dark chocolate because that is what authentic mole sauce uses. I used a lot less tomato sauce (instead of soup) because it tasted too much like doctored tomato soup. I added 2 tbsp cinnamon and more cumin also some cayenne pepper for some spice. I left out the cilantro and peppers according to my own preference. Mine turned out PERFECT so I will be adding my own recipe, but thought I should rate this since I used this as a base recipe. Thanks!

Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2008
Super good! Just like Starbucks! My husband really liked it and that is what counts (but I thought it was incredible too!). The only changes I made were: 1/2 c. of butter, 1/4 c. applesauce, 1/4 c. oil, 1 c. brown sugar, 1 1/2 c. white sugar. It was REALLY moist and took just about an hour to cook but came out GREAT! Thank you so much! I will be making this frequently! ***UPDATE*** I have made this probably 6 times in the past two months and every time it comes out great and everyone loves it! I am on my way to make some now!
