Restaurant-Style Hashbrown Casserole

Very good! I didn't use any butter and used a half container of fat free sour cream. I used cream of mushroom instead of chicken. I crumbled up bacon in too. It was yummy!

Steakhouse Black Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2009
The texture was wonderful. Taste not so much! It was too bitter. With butter and honey it tasted better. I'm thinking more sugar next time and perhaps less coffee? I used instant coffee because that's all I have.

Feta Cheese and Bacon Stuffed Breasts

Very good! I used the same amount of oil, but doubled the chicken. Very easy to make and tastes great. I didn't use sliced feta, just crumble. Will make again!

Mom's Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2009
I added an extra cup of zucchini, went 1/2 and 1/2 on oil and applesauce, and added nutmeg and a dash of cloves. I don't know if my cinnamon is old, but it didn't have enough cinnamon flavor to me. Very moist, great texture. I actual don't have bread pans, so I cooked it in a large casserole dish for 40 minutes and an addtional dozen muffins. I will make again.

Connie's Zucchini 'Crab' Cakes

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2009
I only used 1/2 cup bread crumbs and cooked in the oven vs pan fry. I didn't have onions but I used garlic powder. "horsey" sauce on it makes it the best. yum! I liked it.

Cinnamon Rolls II

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2009
I halfed this recipe knowing my breadmachine couldn't handle 6 cups. (It can only cook two pounds max- and with three cups its up to the top of the machine.) Half still made plenty! I did sub one cup bread flour with whole wheat and added two tbs of flax meal to make it a little healthier. Tasted fine, but it cooked in 18 minutes since I made them smaller. First batch got browner than it should! I didn't like the frosting at all... next time I'll make a cream cheese frosting.

Refried Beans Without the Refry

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2009
I halfed the recipe, but still added more spices then listed. The texture was great, just like the Mexican resturants, BUT there wasn't alot of flavor. It tasted good with feta cheese and salsa in a burrito! It almost seemed like it needed cheese, cream cheese, or something to add flavor to the beans. This would be a good way to make a dip.

Awesome bread! I've made this twice now. Both times I didn't have cornmeal, but that doesn't make a difference. Also I've add three tablespoons of minced garlic (I like garlic!!)and two tbls of flax seed. I love this bread!

Jay's Signature Pizza Crust

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2009
I made this in the bread machine! Tip do not use warm water, just regular temp tap and cook on the dough cycle. Also since I didn't have a pizza stone, I let the pizza rise in the oven for 10 minutes at 170 degrees. I then cooked it at 425 for 10 mins. I then put all the toppings then cooked in oven again for 8 minutes. It was perfect! I did add some herbs to the crust (basil & Oregano) and I'll add more next time along with garlic. This is the best!

yum! I really liked it. Hubby thinks it needs to be spicier, but I like it the way it is. So easy! And it's best with crunch peanut butter.

I used canned sausages that looked like little hot dogs(who eats these? yuck!)instead of liver. I didn't have wax paper so I used alum and sprayed a little pam on it. Smelled gross.. like cooked hot dogs..lol.. but my dog loves them!!

Beef Taco Skillet

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2008
This is an okay base. But I had to add a lot to it, then it tasted great. First off I had 2lb of ground beef. I put one can of black beans, one can of creamed corn, two cups of salsa, 1tsp of crushed red pepper, & half cup of tomato soup. (no water since there was extra liquid)Also while cooking the meat I used minced garlic, dried onions, and cummin. Once meat was cooked i added everything to it and I let is boil for about 10 minutes, let it sit for about 10 mins. Then I made tacos from it with cheese and lettuce. It was good. I think next time I'd leave out the soup since i like the salsa instead for more of a kick.

Zucchini-Chocolate Chip Muffins

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2008
yum! I did sub 1/2 the oil with apple sauce which made it very moist. I didn't have any lemon extract either. I used butterscotch chips and put 1/2 cup instead of a 1/4 instead- turned out great! I'm going to make more for my coworkers!

Zucchini Bread IV

yum! I did omit the walnuts, and I did the 1/2 applesauce 1/2 veg. oil. I actually only made 1/2 the amount due to only having one cup of zucchini. Good stuff!
