Lemon Chicken Tenders

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2009
Made this as it first, but after tasting the lemon mixture way to much sugar for our taste. Runny too. So I added more lemon juice and some flour. After that it was good. I suggest cutting down the sugar to 1/4 a cup or less

Swabian Meatballs (Fleischkuechle)

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2009
Tasted absolutly fab. Whole family loved it. I served them with brown gravy over egg noodles. The only problem I had was the meatballs tended to fall apart while frying so I had to tranfer them to a baking sheet and bake them.

Sour Cream Burgers

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2009
from all the reviews i thought our family would be over the moon for these burgers. they were good but just not what we expected. They were falling apart by the time they were done, and the flavor was just alright. Definatly need more breadcrumbs or maybe and egg to try and keep these burgers together. Also i suggest if you do make these to mix the soup mix with the sourcream to sofen the onion soup mix a bit. I think I will stick to my usual burger recipe without dumping sour cream in them. I give this 4 stars for the flavor. If the burgers would have stayed together then it would have been a 5 star.

Pesto Cream Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2009
This is the absolute best pesto cream sauce recipe. I have tried a few on this site and this is by far the best. The only change I made was I cut the butter down and scaled it to 4 servings instead of 8. If I could give this 10 stars I would. It has all the flavor and so creamy. My family devored this meal. There were no leftovers to my dissapointment :( The recipe needs no change at all. In my opinion you dont need to waste your time finding a better pesto cream sauce. I am sure this would go great with other meats such as chicken or crab as well. Thanks so much for an absolute fab recipe!

Creamy Pesto Shrimp

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2009
I have noticed with this recipe that everyone seemed to change it. The added this or did that, then rated it at 5 stars. While it is a good recipe it lacks flavor which is a common compliant with most reviewers. It is also kinda oily so I suggest cutting the butter and simmering longer. Even then it was oily. Overall it was ok I found another recipe called Pesto cream sauce which has all the ingredients already added by other reviewers from this recipe. It has the onions, garlic and spices and it a fab 5 star recipe

Mom's Best Pork Chops

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2009
wonderful recipe. Did add seasoning to the crushed crackers though b/c it didnt make much sense to waste seasoing on an egg mixture which only serves the purpose on "glue" basically to keep the crumb coating on. Plus the seasoning is what gives flavor and you want the flavor on the meat

Italian Style Pork Chops

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2009
Cut way down on the butter but kept everything else exactly the same. Delicious pork chops that the family devore. I have made this dish several times with the same fab results. I cut the butter down to 1/4 a cup melted and added a bit of milk then dip the pork chops in. Cuts down on the fat and calories and also saves butter.

Sweet Mustard Chicken Bake

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2009
I cut out the butter and it was great. Easy delish chicken. I also like to fix and forget it in the oven so I coated the chicken in the honey-mustard and coated it in crushed corn flakes. Which basically changes the recipe so I feel that I can not honestly review the dish as it deserves

Goulash Supreme

Pretty good, made it just like the recipe stated, added more veggies but other wise made it word for word. I found that it did need more water to not come out so dry, otherwise a great tasting and easy recipe for busy moms

Cabbage Roll Casserole

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2009
This was fabulous and sooooo easy. I thought it had a good deal of flavor though I did add garlic thyme and ginger. I loved it and the kids ate their fair share. This will definatly be put on the family menu. So much easier than cabage rolls but still the same taste and presentation. I made it just as the recipe stated except used brown rice (just a preference) and cooked at 375 for an hour just to quicken things up. Fab dish!

Emily's Manicotti

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2009
I should have known when there was no eggs and water in the recipe that it would not be that great. Very dry once baked in the oven hardly any sauce. Also just a jar of ragu made it taste mostly like spaghetti. I tried this any way and it was not that tasty, noodles were alright just the taste of the other ingredients. Also should have known when the recipe said to cook up the onion and to add breadcrumbs. I will not be making this agian. Just not our taste but I am sure others mite love it. If you are going to make this be very leary of the star rating and the reviews. Almost everyone changed the recipe to add ricotta and eggs or water and such. They did not rate on the acual recipe. I suggest looking elsewhere for a manicotti recipe that actually includes either ricotta or cottage cheese as manicotti is suppose to. I just hate when some one will give a 4 or 5 star rating yet changed the original recipe to where it is a completly different one. Try the original first then rate it! If you dont like it then change it.

Devil's Steak Sauce

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2009
Very flavorful and unique sauce that my son and I loved. It had a simmilar taste to bbq sauce but with an extra kick, not at all like the steak sauce you would find in the stores much much better. The raspberry jam is what really adds to this sauce, if you leave it out it would not be the same. I suggest doubling the sauce because you may just run out!

Slow Cooker Chicken Cacciatore

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2009
It lacked a bit and I think it was missing some thing maybe spices. Plain speghetti sauce just didnt do it. I should have went with my instinct and use half speg sauce half tomato then add my own spices, which cuts down on sodium anyhow. Next time will add spices and more oinion. Also kinda runny to put over speg noodles. Too long of a cook time had to mix it with rotini noodles. Overall a good base recipe but needs some adjustment to make it spectacular.

Bubba's Jambalaya

Reviewed: Jul. 14, 2009
Really really good! Never will buy boxed again. I usually buy the rice and then add everything to it anyway to make it my own. Much less work to just do it from scratch. I did leave out the ham and chicken and added more shrimp. Also added a bit more spice cuz the family likes spicy food. Great recipe though. I cooked it as it and did not have a prob with the rice and I even simmer it longer cuz hubby was late from work. so good though you wont be dissapointed.

Baked Soy Lemon Chops

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2009
I have to agree with others that the recipe it a bit on the salty side. I made it the first time with regular soy sauce since then I have switched to only reduced sodium soy sauce since it is better for you. With the reduced sodium it turned out much better. I did slice some white onion to put on top of the chops. I served it with green beans and mashed potatoes. If it were not for the saltiness problem I am still rating the recipe a 5 because of different taste prefrences for salt.

Pork Chops for the Slow Cooker

This was a good recipe for pork chops I added some veggies, onions, green pepper snap peas, carrots, peas, broc, ect and didnt use salt. I served with brown rice and as salad, poured sauce of rice and it was kind of like sweet and sour pork. Pretty good and easy to make.

Simple Spinach Lasagna

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2008
First I just have to say, I did add meat. My whole family loves meat, any type of meat! I knew my fiancee and our son would not like it as much without the meat so I added that. I also added the spinach and most the other ingredients to the cottage cheese mixture instead of the sauce mixture. I think it is better this way. Since I was already making baby food at the time too i added some pureed carrots to the sauce. I used everything in the recipe that was listed but added some green pepper and mushrooms to the spinach/cottage cheese mixture. I always use cottage cheese for lasagna and manicotti b/c for one it is less expensive, two it has way less fat and calories, and three we prefer it to ricotta. I tried using low fat ricotta and that was a complete waste of a meal and my time! This is a very good lasagna recipe, easy to follow, and no left overs, to my dissapointment.( I wanted it for lunch the next day) I highly suggest putting the ingredients all in the cottage cheese mixture though.
