About this Cook
I am 22 yrs old, but dont underestimate me and my cooking! I will be graduating pharmacy school within the year. They always say pharmacists are great cooks bc we have to follow the directions when making drugs. I grew up in an all Italian neighborhood, but my eyes were opened to the world outside italian food when I moved to queens ('the melting pot of america'-the most diverse county in the nation) and tasted all the types of food from nationialities that I never even knew existed... I fell in love <33 and didnt have italian food half as often. I am half italian (this side taught me how to eat- AND ALOT) and half Irish (this side taught me how to drink- Haha)... My other loves are pictures traveling, fast food, music which has to be on ALL the time (except when I study), football (NY JETS!!), road trips, and just hanging out with my friends and family who I love VERY dearly. Oh and after graduation i will take Spanish classes to learn the language.
My favorite things to cook
I LOVVVVEEE to bake cookeies bc i have SUCH a sweet tooth and many cavities to prove it!! Recently I have been expanding and baking lots of Mexican food and starting to fall back to my old Italian roots. Oh and king Arthur Flour cookbook is a MUST for any baker!!oh and btw this website is friggin awesome
My favorite family cooking traditions
Well growing up in an Italian family the food doesnt ever seem to end when at the table and when it does theres always cake coming and usually more than one type! When I brought my friends home from queens (of different backgrounds) they asked what the occasion was since we were having cake Ha... Wait until there actually is an occasion!! Oh its an insult to any italian if you come to their house and you dont eat anything and you MUST always finish what is in your dish!
My cooking triumphs
I had a huge final in pharmacy school and I decided to make a stew for me and 18 friends after the final. I left it simmering while I was at school taking the exam (my 1st time leaving stovetop on while being out- Im sure EVERYONE has experienced the worry that comes along doing that for the first time ) and we came hoome to an AMAZING aroma and a stew to absolutely die for!
My cooking tragedies
Using baking poweder (recipe called for alot) that was two years expired!! cookies barely rose! Im sure their will be plenty of more to come.

Balsamic Roasted Red Potatoes
I am a huge fan of roasted potatoes and balsamic vinegar, but together this combination did not work well.. thought it would be an interesting twist but I was wrong.. sorry

Baked Garlic Parmesan Chicken
This is an amazing low fat, healthy meal. There was a little bit too much breadcrumbs, so I double dipped everything twice and STILL had left overs. The only thing that I changed was that I used fat free italian dressing instead of oil. The italian dressing gave it some extra flavor and kept it really fat free. enjoy!

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies
whoever said this recipe wasnt good hastA revaluate their cooking skills.. this is the most amazing cookie recipe that I have EVERRRR tasted.. Some changes: I had one box of french vanilla pudding and one chocoalte box that was 3.8 oz.. created an amazing choclate chocolate chip cookie.. I also added the two tea of baking powder as suggested, two tablespoons of vanilla, and used 3 sticks of margarine and one of butter (bc that is what I had on hand)... This recipe made a TON of cookies.. I actually froze the remaining batter.. 12 minutes exactly in the oven- even tho they may look like they are not done. Let them cool for 5 mins and DIG IN... they taste amazing hot and just as good cool.. I will never make cookies again without pudding!!
