About this Cook
I am an Executive Assistant, 53 years old, love Jesus, married, no children and have 2 beautiful Golden Retrievers. Both my husband and I enjoy cooking and entertaining our friends. We love traveling with cruising being our favorite type of vacation. Get to see a lot of new places and sample different local fare.
My favorite things to cook
I don't have any one favorite thing to cook. I do enjoy putting together dinner menus so everything compliments everything else - and is pleasing to the eye. If I had to pick one thing I like to work with, it would have to be chicken. So versatile. And, I also enjoy doing "cooking marathons". I cook all weekend, freeze and share with friends. My motto is "If you're going to make a mess, make a big mess".
My favorite family cooking traditions
Making Christmas cookies with my Mom and Sister and listening to Christmas Carols and singing and harmonizing to our hearts content - and, of course, sampling the cookies. Really good memories.
My cooking triumphs
Hands down - Homemade Pesto Pasta Primivera with Grilled Chicken Breasts. Oh my - so so good. And, I make WONDERFUL Tomato Basil Cups.
My cooking tragedies
Pumpkin Dinner Rolls - YUCK. Couldn't get them to rise so they were like bricks. TERRIBLE. It was my first time attempting anything with yeast - I was 21 yrs. old, newly married and was supposed to take "the rolls" for Thanksgiving. It was pathetic, but, my family (all 25)were kind and tried to eat them anyway. It makes for a good laugh now.

Blueberry Zucchini Bread
What a great change of pace from the standard Zucchini Bread. And a great way to use those fresh picked blueberries. We loved this recipe and will make every year. Great for breakfast and freezes well.

Maple-Balsamic Vinaigrette
Sorry - way to sweet for our taste. I ate it, but DH didn't like.

Red Bliss Potato Salad with Gorgonzola and Walnuts
Only 3 stars from me. We thought it was OK. Better the second day. We ate it, but won't make again. The flavors just did not "marry" well for us.
