About this Cook
I'm a 20-something stay at home mother, who has way too many hobbies. The leader of which is baking. My favorite things to bake are cupcakes. I'd love to someday own my own bake shoppe.
My favorite things to cook
Cupcakes. Cupcakes. More cupcakes. Cakes, tortes, tarts, mousse, and dinner... I can't forget dinner.
My favorite family cooking traditions
We have a family dinner night with my family every Tuesday... My father cooks the meal, and I bring dessert. There are 6 adults and 4 kids. The kids are every wannabe chef's worst nightmare for critics. :)
My cooking triumphs
Wellesley Chocolate Fudge Cupcakes w/ Creme de Menthe meringue buttercream. Chocolate cake w/ cookies & cream filling and frosting. dulce de leche cheesecake that didn't have a big old crack down the middle of the cake. and I roasted my first whole chicken, that was very successful. and the famous Taco Ring (both vegetarian, and non-vegetarian stylings), this one is requested for nearly every gathering I go to.
My cooking tragedies
I tried to make Mississippi Mud Fudge Cupcakes... They turned out more like hockey pucks...

Kalamata Olive Tapenade
this is truly delicious. I'm very pleased with how well this came out. I agree with the previous reviewer, that you don't need to add salt, as the capers and olives are salty enough. great recipe. I'll be making this many times again.

Quick and Easy Brownies
I have been craving chocolate like a mad woman. I was so glad to come across this recipe where it called for cocoa powder and not bar chocolate. This was quick and easy. I baked in a 9x9" pan for 30 minutes, and I think it could have been left in for another 5 or so minutes... but not much longer than that. I also omitted walnuts, we're nutty people, but don't like nuts in our food... My 3 year old loved these, and now won't stop nagging me for more. I'm sure my fiance will be 'mad' at me for baking treats. mad because he'll want to eat them all in one sitting :)
