I learned to cook from my father who did 90% of the cooking at our house when I was young. He loved to cook and bake and I know that is who I got my love of cooking from.

My cooking tragedies
The night before a Thanksgiving dinner years ago I made a beautiful pumpkin cheesecake. I carried it to the refrigerator. Holding it in one hand I opened the refrigerator door. The next thing I knew it was upside down on the kitchen floor!. I must have stood there for 3 minutes staring at it wanting to cry. I ran to the store and made another one opening the fridge door BEFORE putting it inside.

Catherine's Spicy Chicken Soup
I thiought this was very tasty. It makes a TON though so you may want to halve the recipe. I did think there were too many tomatoes in it so I would cut back on those next time. It had a great flavor and I used chicken broth in place of the water/bouillon.

New York Rye Bread
This is a great bread..I do it without a bread machine and it comes out wonderful everytime!

Rustic Round Herb Bread
This was very good..the dough was just a little thick so I added another drop or two of milk just to get the flour combined. I did leave out the sage as I don't care for it and added a few shakes of italian seasoning in it's place.
