Ukrainian Apple Cake (Yabluchnyk)

Good crumb crust layered with apples. The apples don't stick together as well as I had liked in the layers, but they taste delicious and I wouldn't want to add any more sugar to make them stick. The tastes like a box cake mix used to make a crust.

Jumbo Dark Chocolate Cookies

Love these!! I used Ghiradellie bittersweet chocolate chips and Hershey Dark Chocolate cocoa. I also made them normal size and baked them @ 350F for 14 minutes. Fantastic dark chocolate cookie that isn't overly sweet!!

Banana Oat Muffins

Alright taste. A little bland. I added some butterscotch chips to a few muffins and some dark chocolate chips to others which helped give them a little more flavor. I did substitute 1/2 the sugar for splenda and NF greek yogurt for the oil. Okay for a subtle morning muffin, but I think I like my banana bread recipe better.

Classic Tiramisu

I thought this was okay for tiramisu. I had troubles with it being a little too runny. I think you have to let it sit in the fridge for a couple days to help because I followed the directions and had stiff peaks in my heavy cream. I used 3 packages of soft lady fingers and quickly dipped them in Kahlua instead of brushing them. Flavor is pretty good, I just wasn't as happy about the consistency and would have liked it to be thicker. I used a springform pan, but can't release it because I am not sure it will keep its shape. If you are going to try it make it a few days ahead to allow the coffe/liquor flavor to meld into the tiramisu and also to let is set and thicken. I think I would try a different recipe next time instead of this one.

Beef Wellington

Great flavor! I made this for my husband's birthday and he loved it. Large servings if you follow the recipe. I used 2 - 8oz. tenderloins. I didn't use butter on mine, which took longer to brown, and mushrooms were chopped instead of sliced. I couldn't find liver pate so after talking to the butcher I used Braunschweiger and it tasted wonderful!! The pastry did get a little soft on the bottom, but still tasted great. I didn't make the sauce and thought this did fine without it. I was impressed this worked out as well as it did. I did have to extend cooking time because the meat was pretty rare - thermometer is a must to prepare this dish. Definitely worth a try!!

Chicken with Garlic, Basil, and Parsley

Fantastic flavor and so simple to put together!! My husband and I agreed this will go in the book of favorites. To dress it up I did sprinkle some feta and extra herbs over the tomatoes about 5 min. before it was done baking.

Clone of a Cinnabon

Yummy - my husband had two as soon as they were out of the oven. Next time I would follow the advice of flipping the pan over as soon as you take them out of the oven to let the cinnamon filling fun over the rolls and then frost them.

Henry and Maudie's Oatmeal Cookies

This recipte is an okay oatmeal cookie base. Nothing spectacular. I have had better. You have to make sure to let the dough sit after it is made and form a little, otherwise I got flat, greasy cookies that ended up in the garbage. I can't way I will hold onto this one.

Buttermilk Wheat Bread

Mocha Chocolate Chip Banana Muffins

Great flavor with subtle mocha flavor! This is a nice recipe instead of using my overripe bananas for banana bread all the time. I did follow suggestions of decreasing margarine to 1/4c, used 1/2c each of white sugar and brown sugar instead of all white, added 3/4c applesauce, 4T finely ground coffee, used 3/4c all purpose flour and 1 1/4c whole wheat flour instead of all white flour, plus I added 2T flax seed. Yum!!

Mound Bars

Yum! My husband loved these so much he said they were better than an actual Mounds bar! This is a keeper - just make sure to use dark chocolate to stay true to the Mounds flavor.

White Chocolate Orange Cookies

These are yummy! I didn't change anything really. I was short a Tb of butter and added a Tbsp or 2 of water to help the batter soften a little after mixing. The hint of orange was delicious and perfectly matched with the white chocolate chips and walnuts. I did half the chocolate chips and this still seemed a lot for this recipe. I would repeat based on the feedback I got from those that finished at work (:

Cowboy Oatmeal Cookies

Lots of butterscotch flavor. I cut the butterscotch chips to 1/2 cup and added 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips. I like more of a dark brown sugar flavor in cookies, but this one didn't have that. Even so - Yum! Yum!

Polvorones de Canele (Cinnamon Cookies)

These are like crisp butter cookies with cinnamon. I took these to work - I work with 4 Argentine immigrants and they devoured them. They loved them and made them feel right at home. This will go in my collection of cookies to repeat.

Meat-Lover's Slow Cooker Spaghetti Sauce

Loved this recipe. I forgot to add the sugar and afterwards thought why add it with as wonderful a taste. I also used lean turkey italian sausage and lean ground beef. I then froze it in servings for later use, too.
