About this Cook
I have a husband and two teens. I am very lucky to live in an area with 4 definite seasons! I enjoy them all in some way or another. I have just recently become interested in cooking, but have always enjoyed baking.
My favorite things to cook
I don't really have favorite things to cook, but I have favorite things to eat! I cook/eat most anything, as long as its not on the spicy(hot) side.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My favorite family cooking traditions were cooking with my Grandma, since she never measured a thing (a handful of this, pinch of this, dash of that). No wonder I thought I was kind of recipe illiterate for so long!
My cooking triumphs
I just made my first holiday meal for in-laws and my parents, along with my own family. It was good, and more importantly, I don't think anyone got sick!
My cooking tragedies
I have many cooking tragedies, dating way back to when I was first married. I actually burned spaghetti noodles while boiling them, let them boil dry. There's way to many to share them all:o

Easy Pizza Sauce III
I think I would like this better if it called for half the tomato sauce, I like a thicker, richer sauce. This was not a stand-out sauce, but a good place to start adjusting to our taste.

Cajun Spice Mix
I found this spice mix to be perfect for my tastes, only cutting back the salt to 1 tsp. Granted, this is not very hot/spicy, which is why I like it. I will continue to use this recipe.

Cajun Chicken
Great tasting chicken! I used my own Cajun spice blend and Italian seasoning blend. I also cut back the oil to 1 cup. I only had three breasts to marinate, they marinated about 6 hours. Chicken tastes good hot, warm, or cold!
