About this Cook
I love trying new recipes that fit my families needs. Having a daughter still living at home that has wheat and dairy issues makes cooking a constant challenge.
My favorite things to cook
My 1st love is baking bread. I have been married for 36 years and have been baking bread probably that long. When I was 11 I watched my paternal grandmother making sticky rolls spreading the dough out the full length of the kitchen table made a lasting impression.
My favorite family cooking traditions
December brings out my orange bread braid recipe for my family and gifts for friends. Also I love New Years, we always have sauerkraut and pork to welcome the 1st of January.
My cooking triumphs
If my Thanksgiving turkey comes out and my family raves about it by eating too much than I feel I have suceeded for another year.
My cooking tragedies
I remember my mother accidentaly putting mint extract in our gravy one Sunday dinner instead of a gravy base. I have had many "oops" but no one comes to mind at the moment.

Zucchini Patties
Crispy brown crust, great taste. I added 1/2 tsp oregano and used 1/2 cup bisquick mix instead of flour. I also salted my zucchini and drained off the water and rinsed before mixing, no watery batter. Great recipe.

Blueberry Zucchini Bread
I made 24 muffins, baked for 35 to 40 min. and will make again. I used 1/2 cup oil and 1/2 cup applesauce. I usually put nuts & mini chocolate chips in my zucchini and banana bread and I forgot this time but they still tasted great. I will use this recipe again.
